And that’s a wrap!

Masala Tandoori Ashington has officially closed its doors for the final time and handed keys over to the new owners.

Once again we’d like to thank everyone for all the support year after year and making us able to succeed and provide for the local area - we are forever grateful and will never forget it!

It’s been an emotional last few days and a wonderful 24 years of business, but now’s the time to ‘hang up the boots’ and focus on health and family.

Massive good luck and all the best to the new owners - Sri Ceylon Cafe & Restaurant keep an eye out for regular updates on their page! They have some exciting changes coming & I’m sure they’ll smash it and continue to provide their excellent service to the local area!

As many of you know, tonight will be our final night in business.

We’ve received an enormous amount of kind messages, love, and support over the past few days, and we want to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It truly means the world to us to know how much support we have out there.

With so many people hoping to visit us one last time, we expect tonight to be extremely busy. While we will do our absolute best to accommodate everyone, we kindly ask for your understanding if we are unable to fit you in due to the overwhelming number of bookings and orders.

Unfortunately, because of this, we will not be accepting takeaway orders tonight.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience, but we hope you understand that everyone is trying to enjoy one last meal with us, and we can only serve so many people.

Thank you once again for all of your support throughout our journey. It has meant more to us than words can say.

To all of our wonderful friends and loyal customers ❤️

After an amazing 24 years of serving our community, it is with very heavy hearts that we announce that Friday 15th May will be our final day of business, as we have now sold the restaurant due to personal health reasons.

Many of you know my father, Mr Karim, has had a rollercoaster journey with his health ever since coming to the UK many years ago — battling kidney failure which resulted in a transplant. Despite everything, he has always soldiered on, remained strong, and continued serving the community with pride for the last 24 years.

The time has now finally come for him to relax, retire, and spend quality time with his family and grandchildren — something he truly deserves.

Since opening in 2002, we have always tried our very best to serve the finest and freshest ingredients for that mouth-watering taste you all know and love. Over the years we’ve faced many challenges — from financial recessions to the Covid pandemic — but we battled through it all thanks to the incredible support and loyalty from our local community.

This decision has not been easy. Over the years, this restaurant became so much more than just a business to us — it became our second home. A place filled with laughter, celebrations, friendships, and unforgettable memories. Watching families grow, welcoming familiar faces week after week, and sharing our food and culture with you has meant more to us than words can ever express.

We want to say a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU to every single person who has supported us throughout this journey. Whether you visited once, ordered every weekend, celebrated birthdays, Christmas dinners, New Year’s celebrations with us, or simply recommended us to others — you became part of our story.

Your kindness, loyalty, and support have carried us through the years, and we will never forget it.

Please come and see us before we close on Friday. We would love the chance to serve you one last time and personally thank you for all the love and support you have shown us over the years.

Please also keep an eye out for the new owners, who will be closing for a few weeks for renovations before reopening with a new twist. We wish them nothing but success for the future.
