Hello everyone! We at The George, Alstonefield, are excited to announce our new breakfast menu available from this weekend.

Breakfast will be available Saturdays and Sundays 9:30 til 12.

Due to the hot weather we have temporarily stopped our Roast Dinners until September. Our normal bar menu is still available as are hot meat baps.

****UPDATE***

Hello friends and followers. Just a quick update on what’s been going on at The George.

First of all we would like to thank everyone for their custom and support since the pub was purchased in October. So far things have been going pretty well.

The electrics have all now been sorted along with many other problems that needed fixing and we are in the process of refurbing the toilets.

We have not been frequent posters on Facebook as we don’t want to bombard people with pictures of Sunday roasts or sticky toffee puddings, however going forward we will try and be a bit more active in keeping you up to date with events and themed evenings.

In the meantime here is a quick rundown of the most commonly asked question;

Q. What are your opening times ?
A. Our opening times have been quite variable in the past due to all the works and lack of staff. Our summer hours will be put on our website, facebook and google over the next couple of days. We will now be open for longer during the summer months.
Please note that these are still subject to change as we try to extend the opening hours.

Q. Do you serve food ?
A. Yes. At the moment we serve food
Tuesday - Thursday evenings from 5.30pm til 7.30pm.
Friday and Saturday from 12pm til 3pm and 5.30pm til 8pm.
Sundays 12pm til 2.30pm.
We are hoping to extend these hours soon. Please be aware that during busy times there can be a bit of a wait as we are currently short staffed.

Q. Do you do Sunday Lunch ?
A. Yes. Sunday lunch is served from 12 til 2.30pm

Q. Do you take bookings ?
A. We now only take bookings for Sunday lunch. The rest of the time is just for walk ins. Big groups will need to phone us in advance due to the staff issue.

Q. Do you allow dogs ?
A. Yes we allow well behaved dogs. Dog bowls are located outside.

Q. Do you allow children ?
A. Although we allow well behaved children please be aware that this is only a small pub with hot dishes and glasses being carried around frequently so please do keep an eye on them for everyone’s safety.

*WE’RE HIRING*

We, at the The George, Alstonefield, are in need of weekend bar staff.

The role will require both serving drinks at the bar as well as serving food to customers and clearing tables. The pub is a small village pub popular with locals and tourists alike.

Parking is available if required.
