This cake celebrated two very special milestones in one family – Grandad's 90th and Dad's 60th.

One side was personalised with a bicycle, the other with a boat, reflecting hobbies and interests that mean something to each of them.

Finished with handmade figures and a touch of gold, it made for a truly personal celebration cake.

I always enjoy bringing these meaningful details together, and it was a pleasure to create another cake for a lovely repeat customer.

There's something so lovely about creating cakes that reflect the person they're for.

For this elegant 60th birthday cake, I combined some of the birthday girl's favourite things – hiking, keeping fit and relaxing in the sunshine – into a simple, modern design.

The soft lavender buttercream was paired with handcrafted fondant hiking boots, walking poles, a striped sunbathing towel, sunglasses and a golden sun, all finished with a glittery 60 topper. A subtle colour palette and clean lines kept the design sophisticated whilst still feeling fun and personal.

I love creating cakes that tell a story, whether it's through favourite hobbies, colours or special memories.

These close-up shots give a better look at some of my favourite parts of this Lion King cake. From the hand-painted acacia trees and distant birds to the warm sunset tones and the textured finish on Pride Rock, every detail was carefully added to bring the design together.

It's often the finer details that take the most time, but they're what make a cake feel complete.

This cake was created to celebrate two milestone birthdays together – Grandad turning 90 and Dad turning 60.

The personalised handmade figures made it extra special, capturing both birthday boys and creating a keepsake to remember the occasion.

This lovely customer has trusted me with several celebration cakes over the years, so it was a real pleasure to create another one for such an important family occasion.

When she came to collect it, her reaction was simply, "It's amazing." Those words never get old and always make my day.

Some cakes are just so much fun to make, and this was definitely one of them.

This Lion King cake featured a handpainted sunset with silhouetted trees and birds, finished with Pride Rock and the birthday boy's favourite characters. Using licensed figurines is a great way to achieve a fantastic finish while keeping the cake more cost effective. Handmaking figures like these would take many hours, which would significantly increase the overall cost.

When Mum came to collect it, she took one look and said, "That's incredible. He's going to love it." That completely made my morning. Moments like that are one of the best parts of my job.

It was a pleasure to create this cake for another returning customer. Thank you for trusting me with another special celebration. It really does mean so much when families come back to me year after year.

I'm Clare, the cake maker behind Piece of Cake by Clare. I create bespoke celebration cakes from my home in Ascot, helping people celebrate birthdays and other special occasions with cakes that are made just for them.

Every cake starts with a conversation. Whether it's recreating a favourite hobby, matching a theme, or adding those little details that make someone say, "That's exactly them", those are the moments I love most.

When I'm not making cakes, you'll usually find me planning my next design, teaching cake decorating classes, or washing what feels like an endless pile of mixing bowls.

One very happy birthday girl collected this cake today, and moments like this are exactly why I love what I do.

When Ottie arrived with her friend, they were both so excited to see the finished cake. The biggest compliment of all was hearing Ottie say that the handcrafted violin looked just like her own.

The cake was covered in rich chocolate buttercream, finished with colourful sprinkles, chocolate swirls, and topped with a handcrafted violin and bow – a design created especially for a young musician.

With temperatures making chocolate cakes particularly challenging this week, hearing such a lovely reaction made every bit of the extra effort worthwhile. Seeing a customer's excitement is always the best part of the job.

Happy 8th Birthday, Ottie! I hope you had the most wonderful celebration.

Inspired by the iconic Clase Azul tequila bottle, this elegant two-tier cake celebrates the craftsmanship behind the famous brand.

Just like the bottles themselves, which are individually hand-painted and finished with their signature handcrafted bell, this design featured the distinctive cobalt blue floral pattern and a handcrafted topper inspired by the recognisable bell.

A stylish cake for a milestone celebration with a modern, luxury feel.

Baby Shark doo doo doo doo doo doo...

This colourful under-the-sea cake was decorated with vibrant ocean shades, Baby Shark characters, coral, seaweed, a sandy shoreline and a number 3 topper.

It certainly made a splash at the birthday celebration!
