This elegant birthday cake was finished in soft green and deep teal buttercream, with hand-crafted teal sugar flowers, foliage and delicate gold accents.

The gold Happy 50th Birthday topper brings everything together beautifully for a milestone celebration.

A closer look at the hand-painted buttercream petals and delicate gold leaf details on this cake.

I love how the different shades of burgundy, blush pink and soft pink come together against the white buttercream, with tiny touches of gold adding a little extra detail. The petals are painted directly onto the cake, with small gold dragees at the centres for added dimension.

It’s the little details that make a cake like this.

A little farmyard fun for Harper’s 1st birthday!

This two-tier celebration cake was designed in soft pink and cream, with a sweet little farm scene on top featuring a personalised pink barn, handmade farm animals and a number 1.

The bottom tier was finished with cow print, a pink tractor, little pink fencing and delicate flowers to bring the whole farmyard theme together.

A lovely combination of pretty and playful for a very special first birthday.

A little wedding cake from the weekend.

This pretty two-tier cake was created with a simple white buttercream finish, with buttercream petals in soft blush and burgundy tones, and a touch of gold.

I don’t usually offer wedding cakes as a service, as I don’t provide delivery, set-up, tasting sessions or design consultations. However, if you’re happy to arrange collection and have a design that works well within what I offer, I’m always happy to consider making a wedding cake for you.

A fun Billie Eilish-inspired birthday cake.

I loved creating this one, with the bold red and yellow buttercream flowers and personalised Spotify-style design on top.

A great example of how a favourite artist or song can be incorporated into a cake design to make it extra personal.

Yesterday’s buttercream cake class.

My student was a complete beginner when it came to cake decorating. She’d had a go at decorating cakes before, but wasn’t really sure where to start or how to achieve the finish she wanted.

So we spent the day working through a mix of techniques, starting with the foundations that make such a difference to the finished cake.

She learnt how to:
• level and fill a cake
• crumb coat — the all-important stage!
• apply the final layer of buttercream
• smooth the buttercream for a neat finish
• add sprinkles to a cake
• use small piping nozzles to create different decorative effects

It was lovely to see her confidence grow as the day went on, and by the end she had created her own finished buttercream cake.

One of the things I love about my cake classes is that they can be adapted to the techniques you want to learn. The designs shown on my website are there as a guide and inspiration — you don't have to choose one of those designs.

Another very special 50th anniversary celebrated at the weekend!

This cake was inspired by a design I had created previously, with colourful edible flowers and a beautiful gold Happy 50th Anniversary topper.

Finished with piped ruffles, it made a pretty and elegant cake for such a wonderful milestone.

A very special Golden Wedding Anniversary cake

For this beautiful 50th wedding anniversary cake, I was given a photograph of the couple on their wedding day, along with their original wedding bouquet, which became the inspiration for the artificial flower display on the cake.

I also took inspiration from the lace detailing and neckline of the bride’s wedding dress, incorporating these elements into the gold and white design.

I loved being able to bring little details from their wedding day, 50 years ago, into their anniversary cake — making it something truly personal and meaningful to them.
