Here's some great news to go with your Friday morning cuppa!

deployed System3, a cleaning system capable of cleaning the area of a football field every five seconds, and collected a whopping 18,360 kg of plastic from the ocean in one single extraction.

The group aims to remove 90% of floating ocean plastic pollution by 2040 and has already extracted over 275 tons of plastic from the Garbage Patch.

Meanwhile, on land, the UK government has announced a ban on businesses supplying and selling single-use plastic cutlery, balloon sticks, polystyrene cups and containers, and the EU has banned glitter.

While there's still a long way to go, this is a great step forward in the fight against plastic pollution! 💚
