We don’t normally post things like this, but after an incident today we feel it needs to be said.

We will not tolerate our staff being shouted at, intimidated, spoken down to or treated aggressively.

If you are unhappy with your food, a drink, the price of something or any other aspect of your visit, please tell us. We will listen, we will talk to you and, where appropriate, we will put things right.

What we will not accept is somebody becoming increasingly aggressive, talking over a member of staff, raising their voice and causing a scene because they don’t agree with something.

Our prices and descriptions are displayed on our menu before an order is placed. Nobody is forced to buy anything. You are absolutely entitled to decide that something isn’t for you or that you don’t think it represents good value. You are not entitled to abuse the person serving you because of it.

If a customer behaves aggressively towards our team, we will ask them to leave. I will support my staff 100% in doing so.

Sadly, we have seen a number of other hospitality businesses posting similar messages recently and it does seem that this kind of behaviour is becoming more common. People working in cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops are human beings. They deserve the same basic courtesy and respect that customers quite rightly expect to receive themselves.

And to the vast majority of our customers, thank you. We have some genuinely wonderful customers, many of whom have supported us time and time again. Your kindness, humour, conversations and continued support mean far more to us than you probably realise.

We love welcoming people here and want everyone to enjoy their visit.

But please remember: being a paying customer does not give anyone the right to treat our staff badly.

That is one thing we simply will not compromise on. ❤️

⭐️ Holiday announcement⭐️

We are whisking Dad away to Croatia for a well-deserved holiday from Friday 5th June until Saturday 13th June. It’s about time Dave had a proper break, so for one week only he’ll be swapping the business for sunshine and b**r... and pretending he doesn’t know us!

Please note that the kitchen will be closing at 2pm on Friday 5th June while we make our getaway.

While we’re away, our fantastic team will be holding the fort. Please be kind to them (and don’t scare them too much!). There may slightly slower service and limited menu at times, but they’ll be doing their best to keep everyone fed, watered, and happy.

Thank you for your patience and support while we’re away. We promise normal service will resume upon our return.
