There's a terrace behind the restaurant most people walking past on the High Street never know is there — lemon trees, fairy lights, a "Ciao Bella" sign over the corner table.

October is the last of it before the evenings get too sharp to sit out. If the sun's out today, that's where to ask for a table.

The w**e list runs from a Pinot Grigio from Friuli at £32 a bottle to a Brunello di Montalcino, and there's a Gavi di Gavi and a Chianti Classico in between.

If that's more decision than you want to make on a Saturday, ask — that's what the list is for, and nobody here minds talking about it.

There's a pizza on the menu with the restaurant's name on it. Tomato, mozzarella, artichokes, mushrooms and olives. £15.

Naming a dish after the place is a risk — it has to be the one you'd want someone to judge you on. This is that one.

Pizza was invented in Campania, which is the region we're named after and where Nick's family is from. So it was never going to be anything else.

Thursday is the Meat Feast. Two courses £33, dessert for another £5.50.

Lamb rump with rosemary. Ribeye. Pollo Salvatore — chicken breast stuffed with pesto and mozzarella, wrapped in parma ham. Fillet steak if you want to go all in (£3 supplement). And the Chateaubriand for two, if you give us 24 hours' notice.
