Pictured: ornamental lawn grass vs naturally growing clover. After a long, dry summer, which one looks healthier?
Lawns were once seen as a status symbol, a way of saying "I have so much money that I don't even need to use my land to produce anything."
Is that the message we still connect with in 2025? Do little postage stamps of dried grass still scream "bourgeoise"? Is it still rewarding to see a patch of land, devoid of any use other than to look at?
No?
Then why do we still insist on having a freshly mown lawn, when all we are rewarded with is showcased above?
Let's redefine what it means to be bourgeoise in 2025 - instead of showing off useless, dead land to your esteemed guests, show off a freshly brewed pot of Imperial Jade Coffee instead!
