Our Chatty Café table is back tomorrow from 12pm–1.30pm 💛

No booking, no awkward introductions and absolutely no requirement to be “good at socialising” 😂 Just grab a brew, pull up a chair and join our lovely lot.

Come on your own, bring a friend, stay for ten minutes or the whole session — everyone is welcome. 🥰

🎉 PARENTS, CARERS & GRANDPARENTS… CONGRATULATIONS! 🎉

You’ve survived the 6-week school holidays! 🏆😂

Well… some of you have.

Some have already waved the kids back through the school gates 👋
Some are counting down the hours… ⏰
And some are looking at the calendar thinking “WHY ARE MINE STILL HERE?!” 🤣

Six weeks of…

🍿 “Can I have a snack?”
😩 “I’m boooored!”
💸 “Can we go somewhere?”
🍪 “Can I have another snack?”
🤷 “There’s nothing to eat!”

…usually said while standing in front of the fridge, which has been opened every 3 minutes since July. 😂

The house looks like it’s been burgled… yet strangely, nobody knows who made ANY of the mess. 🤔🤣

Your bank account has taken such a battering it may also need a little lie-down when they go back. 💸😂

You’ve refereed arguments over absolutely nothing, spent a small fortune on “cheap days out” and heard your name shouted from another room approximately 4,000 times.

So, whichever day your little darlings head back this week, give yourself a massive pat on the back. 🙌

Then get yourselves down to Marina View for a well-earned coffee and cake. ☕🍰

Sit down.
Enjoy it while it’s hot.
And for once, you might even get to EAT THE WHOLE CAKE YOURSELF! 😂🙌

And to all the teachers welcoming them back this week…

We absolutely love seeing all our four-legged regulars (and their humans, of course! 😉). From the ones who pop in for a quick hello to those who know exactly where the treats are kept, they’re all part of the Marina View family. ❤️🐾

🪿 Well… apparently we’re running a goose sanctuary now! 😂

47 geese turned up at Apperley Bridge Marina today. Yes… we counted. FORTY-SEVEN! 😳🪿🪿🪿

No booking, no table reservation at the coffee shop… just rocked up together like they owned the place. 😂

At this rate we’re going to have to start charging them for parking!

Anyone missing a rather large feathered family?! 🤣🪿

💛☕️ 6 MONTHS OF CHATTY CAFÉ! ☕️💛

Tomorrow marks 6 months since we launched Chatty Café Mondays at Marina View Coffee Shop! 🥰

It all started when Rachel asked us if we’d heard of the Chatty Café Scheme. We hadn’t, but we loved the idea of it, so we signed up, paid our subscription and the rest, as they say, is history! 💛

Six months later and our Monday afternoons have become something really special. We’ve watched people come through the door not knowing anyone, new friendships form and lots of familiar faces return week after week. There’s been plenty of laughter, lots of stories and, of course, LOTS of tea and coffee! ☕️😂

A huge thank you has to go to Rachel, who has volunteered her time every Monday, welcoming people and helping make our Chatty Café what it is. 🥰

We’re incredibly proud of the little community that has grown over the last six months and grateful to everyone who comes along and makes it what it is. 💛

Here’s to the next 6 months! ☕️🥂

A lovely little swan update... 🦢❤️

A couple of weeks ago, the cygnet that was rescued after developing angel wing is doing incredibly well and getting stronger every day thanks to the wonderful care at the rescue centre.

Even more heartwarming, he has found a new friend – another cygnet at the centre who also has angel wing. It's so lovely to know they have each other while they recover.

Thank you to everyone who has followed the little one's journey and wished him well. We'll keep sharing updates as we receive them. 💕
