Planning Approved โœ…|

Some of you might be aware that over almost two years we have been going through a planning process to keep our coffee dock here at Chimney Corner Football Club.

We received almost 300 letters of support highlighting the need for our development here at Chimney Corner FC.
We couldnโ€™t have done this without the help of elected representatives, they have truly went out of their way to help and deserve all the credit they can get.

Roisin Lynch, Paul Dunlop BEM, John Blair MLA, Robin Swann MP, Annie Oโ€™Lone, Declan Kearney MLA and Emma Little-Pengelly MLA. We have had some of them visit today to congratulate us.

At the end of this process we have been able to take a step back and see the true impact that we have had on the community around us. The fact we have secured planning now means we can continue to do what we do into the future. We are always open to ideas from our community!

A huge thank you also goes to our planning agent Azman at Big Design Architects who has also give his all to get this application across the line. I can highly recommend him for any planning work anyone might need.

Although even with our planning permission. We will not be making the site any bigger, we will now be able to finally continue investing in the site to make it more enjoyable for our visitors. Something we have not been able to do as much in the past 2 years.
When we went back to the council committee Monday evening councillors voted unanimously to approve planning.

Throughout this application I donโ€™t want the planning department to seem like they were against us. They are simply doing their job. They ensured every detail was looked into and always remained professional and on the other end of the phone should we have had any queries. This was why the application too longer than some others. Planning is a great system to keep communityโ€™s like ours functioning. It should be respected, it was my own fault for not applying when we first opened. One that hold my hands up to due to only being in my early 20s when we thought shipping containers were temporary.

A great big โ€œTinyโ€ thank you to everyone who has supported us in any way along this journey.

Hereโ€™s to a โ€œtinyโ€ future!

The ladies from the Shed in partnership with the Library Of Things have created a few of these amazing crochet kits. And decided to drop them in with us. These are for people to either try while they sit with a coffee or take away with them! Trying to help reduce social isolation and get more people into crafting!
How amazing of idea are these?
