The BFF (Best Friand Foreva) joke has been made before but it’s our thing we ain’t changing it so you just gotta deal with it I promise it’s still funny and it won’t go out of fashion it’s ageless comedy which is all about timings and word plays like we’re all about flavours and tasty things in seasons like the gooseberries they love the Friands they are indeed BFF although now the season is over bye bye goosbies you were green and then you were red and then you were no more.

The long awaited East Neuk Tomato Season (ENTS) from East Neuk Market Garden (ENMG) is finally upon us, and what better way to celebrate it than SALMOREJO (SMRJ), the Undisputed Champion of Chilled Soup (UCCS).

Boiled eggs and wild garlic capers on top.

So Hazel made this really nice courgetti salad (they call them zucchine in some countries) and it’s got all the cheese the cheese police allowed us to use (not enough!). There’s other bits in it too but I forget what exactly and Hazel is busy just now so can’t ask her.

Ok so let me tell what happened was the other day when it was very very hot (SUMMER!) we hot-smoked trout with them green lil shoots from the blackcurrant (CASSIS!) and then threw it across the kitchen and (SOMEHOW!) it landed perfectly on this sourdough flattyboombatty! Plus Rainbow Chard! Plus fermented broad beans! Can’t make this s**t up I tell ya!
