The Buck inn was Established in the year 1700 and is the oldest pub in Annan. It has survived through 326 years of Scottish history including a stay by Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Robert Burns spent many a hour in the downstairs bar durning his time as an Excise man in the area.
The buildings front was restyled in the 1900s, completed 1903 and if you look up at the front you will see the carved dates of 1700 and 1903 either side of the building’s sundial which was taken from the original front. (Only 26 complete examples left in Scotland )🏴 Also two carved sculptures sit either side one of Bonnie Prince Charlie and the other of Robert Burns marking their time in the establishment.
The front doors to the downstairs bar are incorporated into an original barrelled front, one of the very few left remaining.
The buck inn is family run and the downstairs bar provides home-cooked food and all your sporting needs, with a friendly atmosphere ( but bring your sense of humour)
There is a beer garden to the rear in the courtyard where the old stables were when the buck inn was a coaching house. The old hay loft outbuilding is there dating from 1700 or earlier.
We also have a large bar on the 2nd floor with a dance floor which will cater for all your function needs and also used for events.
We have 5 cosy 5* air bnb rooms on the top floor.
