The light was beautiful through the trees this morning and the air was deliciously fresh - perfect way the start the day!

I’ve got a very small veg patch at home - which isn’t a bad thing because it’s manageable and means I only grow what I will eat.
Best year of tomato growing - so delicious, a token few raspberries which I eat while pottering in the garden, and lots of beetroot to look forward to in a month or so.

I haven’t taken the time to do any needle felting since July😲.
I’ve really missed it because it’s felt like a guilty pleasure which it absolutely should not.
There are a gazillion ‘jobs’ that need to be done around the house (always) - it’s like painting The Forth Bridge - so I always feel guilty about doing something just for me. But as I have done some ironing this afternoon (very rare occurrence 😉) and cooked dinner (regular occurrence), I have rewarded myself with half an hour of needle felting.
This is inspired by our wonderful Chiltern Hills - before the fields all turned brown over the summer.

Do something that brings you joy.

Trying to increase my steps/time out walking - got to work on that menopausal midriff!!

Visited Hughenden Manor | National Trust with lilyrose on Tuesday - the rain just about stopped for us.
And also caught up with Katy and Reg this week with a great walk at Wendover woods - both with a cuppa - perfect.

The sunlight was beautiful this morning, giving a really lovely neatly-autumn warmth ❤️🌳

Late as always posting this🙄
It’s been a really busy day catering - busy but successful. There’s nothing better than creating a delicious spread for folk who really enjoy it! Especially when I get to do it with Laura and Meryl as 🥰

Now rushing around getting cupcakes iced and other things packaged ready for tomorrow’s Heritage Day in Old Amersham - need to try and shower and sleep at some point!!😵‍💫🤪

In between baking cakes yesterday afternoon and evening, I managed to meet up with ‘the girls’ for our fabulous friend SJ Axelby ‘s launch of her latest BEAUTIFUL book: ‘Seasonal Living - the almanac for home and garden’. And check out the exquisite mini cupcakes iced with violet flowers (icing skills envy!)
Fortunately it was held The Folde | Creative Workshops, Events & Homeware so I got to have a quick catch up with Bill and Peter and treated myself to one of their fantastic candles (well it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago so I think I deserved it😉)
Unfortunately no photo of SJ as she was being kept very busy signing books and chatting to guests.
I’ve found the section on ‘putting my garden to bed’ so that’s what I’ll be doing next week….
