Folks, we bid you all farewell today. Common Ground closes this afternoon.

With thanks to everyone who passed through that green door. For those who became friends and for those who made and shared memories inside these walls. Thank you.

I must pay particular tribute to all the staff, past and present, as well as the 2 previous ownerships who created and nurtured Common Ground before our tenure.

Thanks also to family and friends for all the support and love. It's time for us to pass on the baton and focus on new projects, and the sale of Common Ground enables us to do that. For this, we are grateful.

However, the future is bright. There's something magnificent on the horizon for 20 Shaw's Road, and we wish our incoming friends all the success in the world with West Beverly. This place is in safe hands with Justin & Diana.

Dear all Common Ground customers,

There's some important news...

It is with mixed emotions that I have sold the business and Common Ground will close on Monday 5th June. Our last trading day will be Sunday 4th June.

Being the owner of Common Ground, within the town I have made home, has been an absolute privilege and pleasure and I'm grateful for every single customer and staff member who have made this place such a solid part of Altrincham's community. Since I took over in July 2021, we've taken Common Ground to the next level, but now the time is right for a change.

In order to pursue our future ambitions, most notably with the expansion of Alibi - our cocktail and karaoke bar also on Shaw's Road, we made the decision to sell Common Ground. We're also developing Alibi's growing mobile bar business, offering quality bar services for private events and functions.

The good news is that in Common Ground's place, there will be a fantastic new independent food and drink spot, with a fab concept, headed up by brilliant owners. Justin & Diana are friends of mine and have done an unbelievable job of making California Coffee & Wine such a popular staple on Altrincham's food scene. As a resident of Altrincham, I am personally excited for this new opening at 20 Shaw's Road and wish the new owners all the very best with their new venture.

Being the custodian of Common Ground has been an honour and an amazing time and I'm grateful for the opportunity and for all the people I've come to meet and befriend. A special word also to the two previous ownerships of Common Ground who paved the way before me. You'll all still see me - just 4 doors down at Alibi!
