During the summer season, we welcome more groups of friends and families, but once the schools go back, we meet mostly couples.....and yesterday was no exception. 🙋👍🏻

It turned out to be a rather busy day, which culminated in a rather empty cake table. The state of the cake table is usually a very good guide as to how busy we have been. 😂👍🏻🍰

We have baked extra scones today, in advance of the great global greyhound walk, which starts from here at 1pm. 🐕‍🦺♥️ We have fruit scones, cheese scones and blueberry scones on offer today. 😋👍🏻

Our new company vehicles have finally arrived 🏍️😂👍🏻.

One of our baristas (you'll never guess who 😂), was the first team member to try out this very limited edition Honda. Or did he just sit on it, as he was too scared to even start the engine. 🤷🏻😂👍🏻🏍️

On a slightly more serious note, the bike actually belongs to a close friend of the Rocky. 🏍️♥️ Andrew rode 128 miles each way, just to have lunch here yesterday. Now, we knew our food was good, but we didn't realise it was that good. 😂👍🏻😋

We have welcomed so many regular customers this week. And now that we are not so busy, it is great to have a good catch up with many of them. 🙏♥️

On Sunday, we are holding our last major event of the year. It is called the Great Global Greyhound Walk and is for all sighthounds. We had nearly 30 dogs last year but the event has been gathering momentum each year. We hope this year will be no different. 🐕‍🦺♥️

Life is calming down as we head towards autumn and it doesn't need roadworks to do it, either. 😂👍🏻

We have had such lovely feedback about our new painting 'the essence of the Rocky', by Adriana. Adriana's Art ♥️ She has taken more commissions as a result, which is lovely. 👍🏻🎨

It was great to see a truly beautiful classic car drive up to the cafe at the weekend. They really don't make cars like this any more. It turned more than a few heads. 🚗♥️

What a difference it makes when the roadworks are not in operation. 😂👊🏻🚗

Well, it has been a much busier week and yesterday we welcomed back Adriana 🎨, for the official unveiling of her painting 'the essence of the Rocky'. 🎨🖼️♥️ It looks great now that it has a final home, as it has so much detail in it. (Can you spot Si King The Hairy Bikers , Alexander Armstrong and Richard Dunwoody Dunwoody Web Design & Photography? Or even Kenton Cool, who climbed Mount Everest. 🏔️ Or perhaps Chali 2na , a very popular American rapper. 🎤 And then, of course, there is Mr Mole 😂👍🏻) 😂 We had such a fun time at the unveiling, as Adriana explained more about her work. 🎉

We have served a few afternoon teas this week, which have been well received. But the highlight of the week was when 3 ladies from New York City put in a review that the Rocky was the highlight of their week in Northumberland. How special is that? 😲👏🏻♥️

Sebastian, the local Great Dane, rode into the Rocky this week, as he had heard we serve the best breakfast in Northumberland 🐕‍🦺😋👍🏻. He was not disappointed until he realised that it was Mum and Dad who had the breakfasts, and all he got was a small piece of sausage (at least it was from our local butcher, R. Green & Son 😂👍🏻).

He is probably the heaviest dog we have welcomed in nearly 10 years, even if he is not the biggest. Some 80+ kilos and only 4 years old.😲👊🏻🐕‍🦺♥️

Well, it is exactly 2 weeks since we held our 5th annual bank collie-day event. And what a truly lovely day it was. 🙏♥️🌞🐕‍🦺

The overall numbers were about the same as last year but the weather forecast was showing rain for most of the bank holiday weekend, which is why numbers were somewhat limited. 🤷🏻🐕‍🦺

There was such a lovely atmosphere around the place and some people even brought a picnic. 😋👍🏻☕🍰

We finished up raising just short of £1,000 in total for SHAK The Sanctuary. 👏🏻🐕‍🦺♥️

Thank you so much to everyone and every border collie who attended and supported this year's event. It is very much appreciated. 🙏

After a quiet week, due to roadworks, the Rocky sprang back into life again. 🙏👊🏻

It was a day of four halves, and proved to be our busiest day of the year so far. 👏🏻

Firstly, we welcomed 38 motorbikes from the vintage motorcycle club, who come here every year. The bikes are all under 10 horse power. 🛵♥️

We then welcomed 30 members of the Triumph club, which included a range of classics. There were 20 cars in total. 🚗♥️

Then we welcomed 3 trikes. All 900 cc Can-Ams. We had never seen one before and then we see 4 in one week. 😲👍🏻🛵🚗

And, of course, we had a steady flow of cafe customers, who probably didn't know what had hit them. 😂👍🏻♥️

But, everyone got served on time and the weather remained kind to us. 🌞☕🍰

Meet the artist - Thursday 17th (September) at 11am. 🎨🖼️♥️

At the beginning of July, we commissioned Adriana's Art to paint a 'masterpiece' for the Rocky, to explain the soul of this very special place. ♥️ She spent a solid 7 weeks at her easel....and the final works will be unveiled at the Rocky on Thursday. 🙏 If you would like to come and meet Adriana and see the painting in 'real life,' you will be very welcome. You can also enjoy a complimentary cup of tea or coffee at the same time. 👍🏻☕🙋

The painting includes a few well-known customers who have enjoyed Rocky hospitality over the years. This includes Si King who had breakfast here a few years ago. Si was shown a photo of the painting this week, so he would obviously be very welcome to come to the unveiling, as he is featured in it. We might even throw in another delicious breakfast. 😂👍🏻😋🙋

Although we were quiet again today, one of the highlights was to see a Can-Am spider here in the car park. Quite a vehicle. It is treated as a car and not a motorbike, so crash helmets are not a legal requirement. It is 1,300cc and has air suspension. 😲👍🏻🏍️

The roadworks outside the farm have now finished, so we should get back to normal from tomorrow. 🤞🏻👍🏻☕🚗
