A personal update from Al Forno
This is not a post I ever wanted to have to write. Due to my health, I've had to make the incredibly difficult decision to close Al Forno for now, until I'm able to find someone to take it over.
When people see a new business open, they see the posts, the food, the customers, the buzz. What they don't always see is that in the early stages, a small business often relies almost entirely on one person holding everything together behind the scenes.
The planning, training, ordering, prep, staffing, problem-solving. The long days. The late nights. The constant pressure to keep everything moving.
At start-up stage, there isn't a big team or a safety net. There is just one person pushing far beyond normal hours to make it work. And the truth is, once that person physically can’t do it anymore, there isn't a backup plan waiting.
I have pushed myself as far as I can, because I believed in this so much and wanted to make it work for Alford. But health has to come first, and right now I have no choice but to stop.
This is heartbreaking for me to write, because so much work, energy, money and hope has gone into building Al Forno. I know many of you were excited about finally having something like this in town, and I'm sorry to be letting people down.
Thank you to everyone who supported us, booked a table, ordered from us, shared our posts, recommended us, and gave us a chance. It has meant more than you know.
For now, the restaurant will remain closed while I look for someone to take it on. If that's you, get in touch!
Thank you. For everything.
