Did you know that one of Aldeburgh's most characterful buildings has a fascinating history? dps bar was once a chemist, bookshop and general store, and for generations has been a much-loved landmark on the High Street.

Now beautifully restored by Eliza Stephens, the building has been sympathetically returned to its former glory, with its stunning Art Deco bar at the heart of the venue. Today, DP's is a vibrant gathering place where locals and visitors come together to enjoy drinks, regular live music and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Hidden away in the courtyard is another local favourite – the Thai Street Café, serving freshly prepared, authentic Thai street food made to order using fresh local ingredients. Open all year round, it's become one of Aldeburgh's best-kept culinary secrets and a must-visit for food lovers.

Whether you're stopping by for live music, enjoying a drink with friends or discovering the delicious flavours of the Thai Street Cafe Aldeburgh, DP's Bar is a wonderful example of how Aldeburgh's historic buildings continue to evolve while retaining their unique character.
