Luanda Expressiva is getting a new home!!!
We’ve started work on our own space in Luanda, Angola, and yesterday we began cleaning the outside area, marking the start of a long but exciting journey to bring this space to life! 💃🏾🕺🏽🚀

EXPRESSIVE LUANDA👇🏽… 

With the current challenges faced by Angola, many of us feel a deep responsibility to bring light where there’s been too much darkness.
Expressive Luanda is a project born from both pain and love, led by my father, Thó Simões, a powerful artist whose work has always been rooted in truth, resilience, and connection.

Though I can’t be there physically, I’m using this space to invite you, wherever you are, to witness and support something truly special.

Expressive Luanda is more than an art exhibition. It’s an act of hope. Through vibrant canvases, photography, video, murals, and public workshops, this project paints the soul of Luanda, its people, its energy, its chaos, its beauty. It honours the informal neighbourhoods, the winding alleyways, the history, and the unbreakable spirit of the city.

It’s a social project with a mission to:
- Bring joy and inspiration to everyday people
- Create accessible art experiences for children and adults
- Reclaim public space through creativity and community
- Remind us all of the power of expression, even in difficult times.

Workshops, performances, guided tours, and community art are all part of this journey, open to individuals, families, and companies alike.

Art lives in the people, and Luanda Expressiva is a celebration of that life! ❤️

This Thursday join us for a fun evening of drawing each other, good music, coffee, tea and conversation at

Entry is FREE! All abilities welcome, and gentle guidance and tutoring is offered along with basic materials for those without their own sketchbooks.
