🚨CUSTOMER NOTICE 🚨

WE ARE OPEN AS USUAL - THURSDAY 23RD JULY

There is a road closure in place along Llanover road being enforced. So there is no access to the pub from this direction.

We are liaising with the emergency services to see what we can do about access moving forward for customers of the pub.

Keep an eye on our socials for more information 👀🪿

The man.. the myth.. the legend... (And a few other expletives that the landlady would add to those titles...)

Our landlord Kyle Williams amongst an incredible group of landowners and farmers have been working day and night with our local fire service crews to help manage and control the massive wildfire that's been spreading across our local area.

It's devastating to see the destruction that has been caused to our wonderful landscape, and the impact of this wildfire will be felt for a very long time yet to come.

It's working collaboratively together like our teams have been doing these past few days that will help stop and manage fires like this in the future.

But for now, we want to send all our heartfelt thanks to the incredible Emergency Services, all the crews that have changed over and worked hard to do what they can in such extremely difficult situations.

As well as a MASSIVE ROUND OF APPLAUSE and gratitude should be sent to all the farmers and Landowners of the common that came out, volunteered their time, helped create extensive breaks, used their own vehicles, and even left work to come help assist in this response. They are truly unsung heroes in this whole thing, and they continue to try and do as much as they can even now.

Thank you to all those that have been coming around and donating food and drink packages to the teams. It's really helped keep them going strong in such a losing battle.

We can now only hope that the next few days gets better with the fuel load decreasing daily. But with the forecast continuing to stay dry and hot it is likely to still cause destruction to this wonderful habitat.

Chef Jim has been pioneering some superb additions to the pub menu alongside these superb steak options. It's a great time to come and visit the Goose!
