A journey through 125 years of Parisian history ⭐️
As we celebrate the European Heritage Days this weekend, we are opening the Regina’s archives and looking back at the story behind our walls.
It began in 1898, when architect Armand Sibien was commissioned to transform the building on Place des Pyramides. Two years later, the Hôtel Regina opened its doors for the 1900 Universal Exhibition, welcoming travellers to Paris from around the world.
Over the decades, the Regina became a witness to history itself. In 1919, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies was founded within its salons, an event still commemorated by a marble plaque on the hotel’s façade.
More than a century later, much of the Regina’s heritage lives on through its original stained glass, Art Nouveau details and historic architecture, carefully preserved as the hotel evolved with each generation.
From old sketches and archival photographs to the Regina of today, 125 years of history continue to live within these walls.
And the story is still being written ⚜️
