Under the Gaze of Baron Haussmann
On the steps of Villa Haussmann, an illustrious neighbour keeps watch over the boulevard that bears his name.
Facing our façade, the bronze statue of Baron Georges-Eugène Haussmann, Prefect of the Seine from 1853 to 1870, pays tribute to the man who profoundly transformed Paris and bestowed upon the city a distinctive sense of timeless elegance.
Created by sculptor François Cogné in 1899, the statue remained largely forgotten for nearly a century, kept in storage before returning to its place at the heart of the neighbourhood in 1991, on the centenary of Haussmann’s death.
Today, his gaze rests upon the boulevard, while our façade echoes, in its own way, the spirit of the singular Parisian architecture he helped shape.
A discreet dialogue between history, elegance and heritage — just beyond our windows.
