La mémoire de la Grille 📜
🇨🇵Le zinc est bien plus qu’un élément du décor. Installé dans cette institution de la rue Montorgueil, née en 1904, il est considéré comme l’un des plus anciens de Paris.
Son histoire est digne d’un roman. Pendant l’Occupation, le comptoir aurait été démonté, déplacé en secret puis caché sous la terre d’une chambre froide chez un boucher voisin afin d’échapper aux réquisitions de métal de l'armée Allemande.
Depuis, les coudes, les verres et les conversations ont patiné sa surface et on y refait le monde. 🤗
🇬🇧 The zinc bar is much more than a decorative feature. Installed in this iconic institution on rue Montorgueil, which dates back to 1904, it is considered one of the oldest in Paris.
Its story is worthy of a novel. During the Occupation, the counter was reportedly dismantled, secretly moved, and hidden beneath the earthen floor of a butcher’s cold room in order to protect it from requisition by the German army.
Since then, countless elbows, glasses and conversations have left their mark on its surface. 🤗
