Ladies & Gentlemen, Mesdames & messieurs...

From Saturday 26th September, the Spoon, as we know it, will close.

A partir de samedi 26 septembre, le Spoon fermera ses portes...

Many, many thanks to all for your support and your custom over the past 20 months.

Thank you for all the scoffing of the thousands of scones and cakes, the quaffing of teas and coffees, the cutting of fabric, the swearing at sewing machines, the knitting of yarns aplenty, and the swearing (again..) during the frogging and untangling of wooly projects gone awry.

The mountains of caramel shortcake, the gallons of tea (builders' "that'll put hairs on your chest" , or Yogi "lookin' out for the chakra") the hours of silly banter and the wonderful people looking for places to speak English (and they ended up fluent Scottish! Imagine that!)

All the books, and the book lovers (and the book leavers... ) Thank you.

All those laughs, the mad lunches, the evening suppers, the nights with the Panto pals.

The Spoon is not gone. It's only moving to another slot in the cutlery drawer.
