Our Coordinator Safety, Health and Environment, Mr. Villiame Dansey recently participated in the Environmental Management System Transition Training – ISO 14001:2026 conducted by the National Training & Productivity Centre.

The training provided valuable knowledge and practical understanding of the latest requirements of ISO 14001:2026 and how an effective Environmental Management System can support organisations in improving their environmental performance.

One of the biggest takeaways for Mr. Dansey was that environmental management is not simply about meeting requirements. It is about integrating environmental responsibility into our everyday operations, decision-making and organisational culture, while continually looking for opportunities to improve.

The training also provided a great opportunity to work alongside professionals from different organisations, share experiences, participate in group activities and learn from the different environmental challenges faced across industries.

Our Passenger Services Department recently completed their CAAF-approved Aviation Security (AVSEC) Refresher Training, reaffirming our organisation’s commitment to maintaining robust aviation security standards across our ground handling operations at the Nadi International Airport.

As an aviation ground handling service provider, maintaining a competent, security-focused workforce is fundamental to our operational assurance and regulatory compliance. Regular AVSEC refresher training ensures our personnel remain current in their responsibilities, vigilant in identifying security concerns, and aligned with applicable national and international aviation security requirements.

Today, ATS organized a FOD Walk at the Nadi International Airport, bringing together aviation partners such as Fiji Airways, Fiji Airports, Pacific Flying School and Joyce Aviation in a united effort to promote safety and maintain a clean and hazard-free airport environment.

FOD (Foreign Object Debris) refers to any object or material found in an airport operational area that does not belong there and could potentially cause damage to aircraft, equipment, or pose a safety risk.

Our teams worked together to identify and remove potential hazards from the operational area, reinforcing the message that every piece of debris removed contributes to a safer airport.

Following the walk, participants gathered for refreshments and an opportunity to connect and share in the spirit of teamwork.

ATS conducted a NCD screening programme for the Passenger Services staff, as part of the organisation’s ongoing commitment to promoting a healthy and wellbeing-focused workplace.

The screening provided the staff with an opportunity to undertake important health checks, learn more about NCD risk factors, and gain greater awareness of the importance of prevention and early detection.

Through initiatives such as these, ATS continues to encourage its people to take a proactive approach to their health and wellbeing. Investing in the health of our employees not only supports their personal wellbeing but also contributes to a healthier, safer and more resilient workforce.
