A lot of Fun, plenty of Food, and lots of love in OOBU

Friðgeir I. Eiríksson definitely brought the Fun with him to Turku. Friðgeir’s menu drew from his style in his own Brasserie: European in style, with a particular focus on Italian and French cuisine. In OOBU, this style was submerged into the freshness of Finnish ingredients.

Finnish ingredients 🤝 Asian techniques in Vive

Local fish, wild mushrooms, roots, berries, and orchard fruits took centre stage and were reimagined through asian flavours, fermentation, and culinary traditions in Edward Lee’s menu in Vive. The result was a joyous clash of two cultures, where the purity of northern ingredients meets the depth, vibrancy, and complexity of the East.

Darby’s and London visited Roster Gallery through Otto Korpinen

For only two unique nights, Roster Gallery hosted Otto’s Darby’s inspired dinners. Otto put together dishes from Roster and Darby’s, seamlessly bringing together the two restaurants’ culinary philosophies.

The result was a menu where the distinctive flavours and beloved classics of both restaurants came together. Dinner was served at a single long shared table, creating a unique and truly relaxed atmosphere.

A night of music, food, and harmony of Arabic and Nordic cultures

At Event Kitchen (Tapahtumakeittiö) our guests were taken into a whole new world in the middle of Turku. The dinners combined an extraordinary eight-course tasting menu by Omar Sartawi and Kristian Karnell with a live acoustic performance by Jussi Makkonen (cello) and Nazig Azezian (piano), offering guests a rich fusion of flavours and sound.

Jan-Erik Hauge made the most out of the Finnish archipelago

Jan-Erik’s menu brought together the finest ingredients from just around the corner in the Finnish archipelago (fin: saaristo), with his distinctive Norwegian influence and an international twist. The flavours were clean and rooted in the techniques of classic French cuisine.

Kakolanruusu, Juho Ekegren, and autumn truly hit it off in Turku

Juho’s menu at Kakolanruusu brought together Juho’s memories of Finland with the knowledge and experience he has gained in Denmark during, all the while naturally reflecting the season at hand. The menu was inspired by Juho’s love for Finnish autumn and its unique ingredients 🍁

Sergio’s, Francesco Vitale, and bits of Sardinia here and there

Franceso’s menu in Sergio’s was a culinaristic journey through the most authentic Sardinia, without overcomplicating things. The menu started with simple, deeply rooted ingredients and took them through contemporary textures, temperatures, smokiness and contrasts.

A Parisian bistro in E.Ekblom

Jonathan Morales’ menu thrived around Nordic ingredients and season’s produce. The plates were clean, balanced, and full of flavour, combining classic techniques with local ingredients such as trout, venison, mushrooms, scallops, lamb, berries, and pine.

Finnish ingredients inspired Daniele Coccia in Karu

Daniele’s menu in Karu was inspired by Finnish ingredients, with a particular focus on local fish and the flavours of autumn. The ingredients were interpreted through Japanese techniques and the style of Daniele’s restaurant Waku Waku Omakase in Tropea, Italy.

The result was a nuanced interplay between Finnish produce and Japanese culinary tradition ❤️‍🔥 Playful yet delicious!
