I have always loved looking up at the stars at night.
In summer, this is hardly possible in Lapland because the nights are simply too bright. But when autumn and winter arrive, the stars become wonderfully clear in the northern sky.
You look up, and somehow it brings peace. The universe is so vast, while our problems suddenly seem incredibly small — almost disappearing for a moment.
Autumn is already chilly, and winter is truly cold, but you still stand there and keep watching. It is absolutely mesmerising.
I do not know much about constellations, but modern technology can identify what you are seeing almost instantly. It can even tell you how long the photons from a distant galaxy travelled before reaching Earth.
Have you noticed that the Moon seems much larger when you look at it here in Lapland than in other parts of the world? For this experience alone, it is worth coming here.
Stay happy and healthy, everyone. ✨🌙
