Our coffee 'Shyira Honey' comes from the Shyira hills in the Nyabihu District in Rwanda. The Shyira washing station stand at 1850m elevation, and the coffee itself come as high as 2300m. The high altitude combined with the superb weather conditions and soil type makes this unique region to grow coffee. The station is run by and is founded in 2017.

Lauri is travelling to Rwanda this weekend and will visit the Shyira washing station. He will post pics/videos from his trip as much as he can.

With this coffee we won the best espresso/dark filter coffee competition in last month. We recommend trying it out!

Shyira Honey from Rwanda by is our new favourite coffee, and last weekend it won the 'Coffee Gold Award' as the 'Best dark roasted/espresso' at the Food Expo Helsinki event . There was 25 roasters competing in the competition which made the win even more amazing!

Danche from Etiopia has been one of our favourite coffees in the past year, and last weekend it won the 'Coffee Gold Award' as the 'Best light roasted filter coffee' at the Food Expo Helsinki event . There was 25 roasters competing in the competition which made the win even more amazing!

We just won both: the Best Light Roasted Filter Coffee and the Best Espresso/Dark Roasted Filter Coffee categories at the Food Expo Helsinki

This was a brand new competition open to all roasteries in Finland, with 25 roasters taking part. Coffees were judged blindly by a group of professional and "un-professional" judges. Our commitment to high-quality, delicious coffee—and of course, spot-on roasting—truly stood out.

We used our Danche Washed from Ethiopia for the light roast category, and Shyira Honey from Rwanda for the espresso/dark roast. What made us super happy is that these are coffees "straight from the shelfs", we didn't source any specific competition coffees just for this.

New coffee from Peru by Sergio Julcarima.

This coffee comes from Sergios farm Fundo Santa Luisa in the Junin are at the center of Peru. It grows high in the slopes of the Andes at 2150m. We find the coffee really smooth and balanced, truly an enjoyable cup of coffee. In the taste you find yellow fruityness, nuttu smootheness and honey-like sweetness.

Ninga from Burundi

This amazing washed coffee comes from the Bukeye washing station where the story of first started in 2013. The station is situated in the Ninga hills in Bukeye village and around 764 small scale farmers bring their coffee there to be processed.

The innovative and precise work they do at Bukeye can be tasted in the coffee. It is super clean with subtle fruity and tea-like flavours and lemon acidity.

Our first time buying coffee from in Rwanda and we hit the sweet spot from the start. This honey processed Red Bourbon variety is really juicy but also smooth and balanced, making it a coffee that is easily enjoyable cup after cup.
