Helsingin kattojen yllä Esplanadin puiston laidalla sijaitseva ravintolamme on palvellut asiakkaita jo yli 80 vuoden ajan. Tätä nykyä ravintolaa johtaa Chef Patron Helena Puolakka, jonka aikana ravintolaa on kunnostettu ja uudistettu kunnianhimoisesti. n laajimmista. Overlooking the Esplanade Park in the heart of Helsinki, Savoy has served guests for more than 80 years. Since 2019, the restaurant has been led by Chef Patron Helena Puolakka. Her ambition is to create experiences that respect the history of Savoy but feel inspiring and relevant in the 2020’s. Savoy’s food is Finnish-French, with a slight Russian touch. Our wine cellar is one of the largest in the country.

A few seats have become available for our sold-out event with La Tour d’Argent next week.

Chef Yannick Franques from La Tour d’Argent and Savoy Chef Patron Helena Puolakka will prepare a six-course meal on the three evenings of January 26–28, which will include some of La Tour d’Argent’s world famous dishes: a Duckling of course, and the Crêpes Mademoiselle, flambéed and prepared in front of the guests.

We are excited to announce that La Tour d’Argent, one of the world’s most iconic restaurants, will end its world tour “La Tour on Tour” in Savoy in January 2023.

We are thrilled to be featured on the new 50 Best Discovery alongside five fellow Helsinki restaurants.

“This 85-year-old restaurant received a new lease of life in 2019 with the arrival of chef-patron Helena Puolakka, whose contemporary take on Finnish cuisine was refined during a high-profile career in London. Finnish-French cooking with a dash of Russian influence includes Puolakka’s signature take on vorschmack with oven-baked potato, beetroot, pickles and sour cream, while Arctic char, venison, pike and elk are never far away. The eighth-floor setting overlooking Esplanade Park is as much of an attraction as the cooking, originally designed by Aino and Alvar Aalto and sensitively made over in co-operation with Helsinki City Museum and the Alvar Aalto Foundation in 2020.”

We are delighted to announce the opening of Café Savoy, our new sister restaurant located on the street level of our building.

At we will be serving lunch Monday to Friday and dinner Tuesday to Saturday offering a four-course prix fixe menu, à la carte and an ambitious wine list.

Taking influences from the sunny southern French cuisine – and way of life – we aim for a refined but relaxed dining experience.

Tätä nykyä ravintolaa johtaa Chef Patron Helena Puolakka, jonka aikana ravintolaa on kunnostettu ja uudistettu kunnianhimoisesti. Puolakan tavoitteena on tarjota elämyksiä, jotka kunnioittavat ravintolan historiaa m***a ovat kiinni tässä päivässä. Savoyn ruoka on suomalais-ranskalaista, pienin venäläisin vivahtein. Savoy perustettiin vuonna 1937, ja uuden ravintolan suunnittelijoiksi valittiin arkkitehdit Aino ja Alvar Aalto. Savoyn sisustus noudattaa edelleen Aaltojen alkuperäistä suunnitelmaa, joka jakaa tilan tunnelmalliseen ravintolasaliin sekä sitä kolmelta puolelta ympäröiviin terasseihin. Sisustuksessa näkyy Aaltojen mieltymys puhdaslinjaisiin ja toimiviin kalusteisiin sekä laadukkaisiin luonnonmateriaaleihin. Tammikuussa 2020 ravintola kunnostettiin ja remontoitiin yhteistyössä Artekin, Helsingin Kaupunginmuseon ja Alvar Aalto -säätiön kanssa. Remontin tavoitteena oli palauttaa ravintolaan Aaltojen tilasuunnittelun tunnelmaa ja yksityiskohtia, jotka olivat jääneet eri vuosina tehtyjen muutosten alle. Uudistuneen Savoyn sisustuksesta vastaa suunnittelija Ilse Crawford ja hänen toimistonsa Studioilse. Welcome to Savoy. The Savoy interior was designed by architects Aino and Alvar Aalto who brought their human-centered and functional touch to every detail in the restaurant. Opening in June 1937, the interior was rich in various species of wood and lush planting, and the use of fabrics was vivid. The atmospheric dining hall was framed by terraces on three sides. The interior showed the Aaltos’ preference for welcoming and comfortable furniture and their sensitivity towards high-quality natural materials. In 2019–2020, the restaurant was re-designed by Ilse Crawford and Studioilse and renovated in co-operation with Artek, Helsinki City Museum and the Alvar Aalto Foundation. Over more than eighty years of operations, changes and refurbishments had impacted the original Aalto design. The purpose of the renovation was to restore the interior closer to its original charm and beauty while refreshing it to today.
