The oldest Thai restaurant in Finland “Ryan Thai” changed owners and is now rebranded as Thai O’Cha Classic. This restaurant has been giving wonderful Thai food for over 30 years in Finland as its owners put their hearts and soul into their food. Now the time has come for younger generation to take over that legacy and keep on serving Thai food as it is well loved all over the world. New owners Ph
ongsakorn Boonkit and Phanuwat Charoenla have both a lot of experience despite their young age. Phanuwat has been serving Thai take away already many years in Helsinki through his restaurant brand Thai O’Cha. Phongsakorn, being only 26 years old, has been one of the leading forces to start Thai restaurant in Tallinn – New Thai restaurant, taking it together with one other Thai chef to best known Thai restaurant in Estonia in just 5 years. His cooking skills have impressed Thais and Europeans for years. Those two Thai young men are taking on a challenging task to start a new restaurant that also has long history in Helsinki. Vuorikatu is in the center of Helsinki but a bit away from tourist routes and Covid situation makes it even harder to start but good food always brings people together. It helps also that they are both from North-East Thailand from a city called Khon Kaen and have similar cooking background. We are slowly exiting this pandemic and hoping that all restaurants and bars will have opportunity to go back to the good old days where many people had jobs and people had fun eating together with friends.
