The team at Mr Whippy have developed a unique, custom built vehicle working in partnership with the world’s premier manufacturer of ice-cream vans Whitby Morrison, based in the United Kingdom.

Whitby Morrison, established by Bryan Whitby in 1962, export their vans to over 60 countries around the world. A dedicated team of the UK’s finest craftsmen carry out confidential research and development to ensure that Whitby Morrison Ice Cream Vans are the finest available in the world today.

The Whippy Vans are specially designed, top of the range Mercedes Benz Sprinter, fitted with the highest specification eco-friendly engines.

The Whippy Vans offer the flexibility of vending in a variety of locations, allowing you to take ice-cream directly to customers. These vans are not just limited to ice-cream either and offer our complete range of products. While stationary, the vans run from an electric generator enabling the engine to be switched off.

Each van has the same contemporary and modern design as our Whippy Bars, making them instantly recognisable to customers.

HISTORY

Dominic Facchino - born in England with Italian heritage - started the company in the UK in 1958.

His family had a long history in ice-cream and he set up Mr Whippy with six vans in Birmingham, UK.

He selected the classic colours of pink and white and adopted the recognisable Greensleeves chimes for his vans.

Thanks to successful franchising, by 1961 there were 150 Mr Whippy vans on the road in England and another 175 in the pipeline.

Now, Mr Whippy is enjoyed by millions of people all over the UK. The iconic vans can be seen everywhere from the British coast, to parks, to residential areas – anywhere that is accessible by road and has people wanting to enjoy the amazing taste of soft-serve ice-cream.

THE WHIPPY TEAM

Bringing the delicious Mr Whippy experience to the Middle East is Healthy Lifestyle LLC. Founded in the UAE in 2008, Healthy Lifestyle is owned by business partners Michael Jackson and Sajid Javed. Born in the UK and now living in Dubai, Sajid and Michael have ice-cream in their DNA.

Like Mr Whippy’s founder, Dominic Facchino, Michael’s Italian heritage drew him to get involved in the family’s ice-cream business.

Sajid began working in his father’s ice-cream vans when he was in his teens, eventually expanding and then buying out the business his father had run for 40 years.

With over 50 years’ experience in the ice-cream business between them, Michael and Sajid now own ice-cream businesses all over the world, including a number of successful Mr Whippy vans in the UK.

Now Sajid and Michael bringing their First Franchise Mr Whippy Ice cream shop "in Africa" with their Ethiopian business partners in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
