El Molino del Conde is a peaceful base in the heart of Andalusia, perfectly placed for exploring some of southern Spain’s most memorable cities. Its appeal lies in the balance between relaxed countryside living and easy access to culture, history and great food.

**Granada** is famous for the Alhambra, the Generalife gardens and the atmospheric Albaicín district. Booking the Alhambra in advance is essential. **Córdoba** has a compact historic centre centred around the magnificent Mezquita-Cathedral, the Jewish Quarter and its characteristic flower-filled patios. It is a city best explored slowly and on foot.

**Seville** is larger and further away. Although it can be visited as a day trip, an overnight stay is worth considering. Highlights include the Cathedral and Giralda, the Royal Alcázar, Santa Cruz and Plaza de España.

**Málaga** combines history and culture with the Mediterranean. Visit the Alcazaba, Roman Theatre, Picasso Museum and Atarazanas Market before enjoying a walk along the waterfront. **Ronda** offers a completely different experience, with the spectacular Puente Nuevo spanning the El Tajo gorge and a beautiful historic old town.

Whichever destination you choose, start early, book major attractions in advance and avoid trying to see too much in one day. Leave time for a long lunch, an unexpected street or a beautiful viewpoint.

And perhaps the best part of every day trip is returning to the peace and space of El Molino afterwards.
