DE 🌋 Jedes Jahr besuchen rund 3,5 Millionen Menschen Lanzarote. Doch abseits der touristischen Zentren gibt es Orte, die sich ihre ursprüngliche Dorfstruktur bewahrt haben.
Einer davon ist Tinajo.
Entlang der langen Hauptstraße findet sich alles, was das Dorfleben braucht: kleine Geschäfte, Cafés, Handwerksbetriebe, eine Bibliothek, Musikschule und Sportplätze. Umgeben von Vulkanlandschaft und geprägt von Landwirtschaft, lebt Tinajo in seinem ganz eigenen Rhythmus.
Ein Barockkonzert in der gut gefüllten Dorfkirche, eine Veranstaltung im Theater und weiter oben die Klänge von Timple und Gitarre, begleitet von enthusiastischem Gesang.
Es überrascht nicht, dass nur wenige Touristen hierherfinden. Und doch staune ich immer wieder über dieses sympathische Dorf, das sich so wunderbar selbst genügt.

EN 🌋 Around 3.5 million people visit Lanzarote every year. Yet beyond the tourist centres, there are still places that have preserved the authenticity of village life.
Tinajo is one of them.
Along its long main street, you can find everything the community needs: small shops, cafés, workshops, a library, a music school and sports facilities. Surrounded by volcanic landscapes and shaped by agriculture, Tinajo lives at its own rhythm.
A Baroque concert in the crowded village church, an event at the theatre and, further up the road, the sound of timple and guitar accompanied by enthusiastic voices.
It is hardly surprising that few tourists find their way here. And yet Tinajo continues to amaze me: a warm and charming village that seems wonderfully complete in itself.
