Farewell & Thank You!
It is with mixed emotions that we announce Café Bar El Almendro will be closing permanently.
From the moment we arrived in La Mela, a place where many of our neighbours have become friends, we knew we had found our home.
We opened our doors 17½ years ago, having built the bar from the ground up, and were warmly welcomed into the community from day one. Since then, it has been our pleasure and privilege to serve meals, pour drinks, and share countless laughs and memories with so many of you, both locals and visitors alike, and watched our business go from strength to strength and survive challenging times.
We also want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to our amazing staff, Debbie and Sharon, who have worked tirelessly and stepped in whenever needed. Your hard work, dedication, and friendship have been such an important part of our journey, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Of course we have to give a special mention to our ‘behind the scenes man’, Gordon, your patience (especially when I’ve been wrestling with IT issues!) has been greatly appreciated more than you’ll ever know!
Now, in our 18th year, we feel it is time to take a step back, enjoy a little more time for ourselves, and explore more of the beautiful Spain we call home. We will still be here in the village, just on the "right side" of a bar and hope to see many of you out and about.
To our loyal customers, thank you for your support, friendship, and kindness over the years. We will miss you all, but we leave with full hearts and unforgettable memories.
