Waffles has a long history that dates back to medieval times. Already in the 1300´s Waffle irons were made in Germany and the Netherlands. The craftsmen forged waffle irons that made large square waffles, better known today as the Belgian Waffle.
Waffles spread around Europe and the U.S.A and in 1911 the first electric Waffle iron came on the market.
The Norwegian Waffle has incredible opportunities beyond the traditional sweet Waffles we serve with butter or jam.
Our Waffles can also be a sandwich with cheese and other toppings as a more healthy meal.
