DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ROBUST COFFEE AND ARABIC COFFEE
♨The reality is that there are many differences between the two great varieties of coffee that exist: the Robusta coffee (Coffea Canéphora) and the Arabica coffee (Coffea Arábica).
♨For starters, Robusta coffee has about twice as much caffeine as Arabica coffee. It is a type of Central African origin variety that, when growing in dry areas, is not very digestive, has a final bitter taste, with a lot of body and little perfumed. Its cultivation represents 43% of the world production and is a cheaper coffee than the Arabica variety.
♨The other variety, the most expensive and appreciated of all, and with which Café Saula works exclusively, is Arabica. It is a native species of Ethiopia, although it can grow in other countries that are between 500 and 2,400 meters high. This variety represents 56% of the world production and has a maximum caffeine concentration of 1.7%. As a result, Arabica coffee creates a more aromatic and soft drink on the palate, and is also more digestive. The most appreciated subspecies of Arabica are Moka, Maragogype, Bourbon, Mondo Novo, Leroy, Caturra, Icatu, Catuay or Marella, among others.
