🇮🇹 WHAT DOES “TRATTORIA” REALLY MEAN?

Most people think a trattoria is simply a cheaper Italian restaurant.

But traditionally, it means something much more special. ❤️

A RISTORANTE is usually more formal — a larger menu, professional service, an extensive w**e list and a longer dining experience.

An OSTERIA was originally a place for w**e and simple food. Today, it usually means something relaxed, local and informal.

And then there is the TRATTORIA.

Traditionally, a trattoria is about family, tradition and honest food.

Regional recipes.
Seasonal ingredients.
Pasta made with love.
Pizza from a wood-fired oven.
Recipes passed from one generation to the next.

But here is the interesting part:

Today, these names aren’t strict categories. A trattoria can be elegant. An osteria can be sophisticated. A ristorante can be wonderfully simple.

So don’t judge an Italian restaurant only by the name.

🚨 WE MAY HAVE A PROBLEM… 😂🛶

Our Trattoria Angelo team has been asking one question for weeks:

“When are you finally taking us rafting?” 🏔️😂

And because I’m ABSOLUTELY TERRIFIED of rafting, I came up with what I thought was a brilliant plan.

I made a promise that I was SURE would never become reality. 😎🤣

Well… the team hasn’t forgotten.

They’re excited.
They’re planning.
And apparently, they’re already imagining me screaming in a raft! 😱😂

Meanwhile, I’m seriously reconsidering all my life decisions. 🤦‍♂️🤣

The truth is… our team deserves an adventure together, even if their boss would much rather stay on dry land! ❤️

So tell me honestly…

🛶 Would you be brave enough to go rafting?

And if you’ve ever been, I NEED to know: is it actually fun… or should I be worried? 😂🌊
