As many of you know by now there are going to be some big changes at Hemingways in the weeks ahead. For those of you that don’t know we have decided to sell the lease on Hemingways to concentrate on other areas of our lives.
It’s been 11 and a half years since myself and Patricia took over the bar which was a bold one as her language and culture were very different to that of the clientele. I dare say there were a few doubters as to our durability as well but we both embraced the challenge and made Hemingways what it is today, a lovely place to socialise, enjoy the cuisine and of course the view.
We’ve so enjoyed meeting the so many wonderful people who have touched our lives and sadly too some of the loveliest ones who are no longer with us.
We’ve done so many fabulous events over the years from the fancy dress parties, weddings, theme and golf dinner nights to St Georges and of course Burns night. From breakfast, lunches, evening meals and Sunday roasts we’ve always tried to do it to the best of our ability.
All this wouldn’t have been achievable without all the fantastic support you have afforded us over the years and with the staff past and present too, so a big thank you to you all.
It will be sad not to be in Hemingways on a regular basis but as things change we will still be around, just means I can’t get a big tab anymore!
So thank you for giving us the opportunity to succeed and talking of which the new owner is a lovely lady called Jayne and we wish her every success in the future and hopefully you’ll still continue to visit Hemingways and support her.
Our last night in Hemingways is this coming Saturday 25th July and we would be delighted if you could pop in for a drink at some point and give us the chance to say thank you.
