Good evening Facebook friends of The Tea House.
The week passes so fast and here we are again looking back at what we got up to.

Welcoming back lots of regulars and familiar faces has been an absolute joy this week for us. We truly appreciate your loyalty and support and thank you for returning each time you come on holiday. We also still get lots of new visitors. We are discovering that there are many people choosing Los Gigantes as a holiday destination for the first time. Then we also have new customers who have been several times to the area or even '3 times a year for twenty odd years' but didn't know The Tea House was here!! Anyway...you found us in the end!!

Savoury specials were popular last week so more of the same in the week ahead. Tomorrow I will make some more homemade potato cakes which were rather scummy. Add one to your breakfast, delicious with scrambled egg, a slice of bacon and some grilled mushrooms ! On Tuedsay we will have our quiches. Only 2.50€ each and you can choose from cheese and tomato or bacon and mushroom. Wednesday of course is sausage rolls day. No explanation needed for these except to say they are still just 2€ each or, even better value, 6 for 10€
By request there will be another cheese and onion pie on Wednesday as well this week. Busy busy baking again it looks like thus week.

We spent a very pleasant Saturday afternoon Gin Tasting with a fabulous bunch of people. Jim and I would like to thank for participating in our 137th gin tasting event which was our first for a long time. You can read the review and see photos of our event here:

Now that the 'season' is getting underway we will be hosting Gin Tasting most Saturday afternoons, depending on interest of course. Its not much use without people so if you are interested, get in touch with your preferred date and we can arrange and market an event. We have two coming up, Saturday 26th September and Saturday 3rd October. Booking essential.

Don't forget we can pack up any of our menu items, breakfast menu including pancakes and bacon butties, honemade cakes and scones, salads, jacket potatoes, a full afternoon tea and this includes our extensive gluten free offerings. All are available for takeaway. Perfect if you are planing an away day, your journey home or an evening 'in'. If you let us know in advance we can have your order ready fir you at an agreed collection time.

We hope to catch you if you are visiting Los Gigantes over the coming week, so much so that we will be open an extra day this week! OPEN FRIDAY 8AM TILL 3PM .
We know some of you are only off work on Fridays so if that's you and you want to visit, take advantage this week!

When it's been almost 6 months since our last Gin Tasting event what works is a great group of 'regulars' to help us kick off the season.

Two of our couples were on their third tasting and one couple made this one their sixth! Goodness me, how long have we been doing this! In fact this one was number 137 and once again thoroughly enjoyable.

Following a delicious gin cocktail and introductions, Jim took us through a very brief history, well everyone is familiar by now. Then into a great line up of gins to taste. Plenty of discussions around each from our enthusiastic group, everyone contributed which is perfect. There was also time for social chat during the tapas breaks too and it appeared our folks had lots in common apart from their interest in gin!

We had a favourite today. Each person gets to vote for thier favourite, just one and the winner was Tanqueray Export closely followed by the runner up which was our first gin today, Edinburgh Gin Key Lime and Ginger.

A really nice afternoon, Jim and I would like to thank you all again for participating and we hope to welcome you yet again at a future event.

Weekly blog posted Sunday 13th September

Good evening Tea House friends. Half way through September already and we haven't seen a single child all week! They must all be back to school now and so the cycle continues and we are welcoming back lots of familiar faces.

Consequencently we have a gin tasting running this coming Saturday, that is the 19th and we are very much looking forward to it. It's been such a long time since our last one and we have a great line up planned and delicious tapas to keep everyone going. Last week was exceptionaly busy with Traditional Afternoon Teas. A new batch of trifles and mini Victoria sponges...all gone! Also lots of takeaways and savouries were ordered which was great. Thanks for choosing The Tea House and for your continued support.

This week is going to be a cheesecake week again. A strawberry one for a change as I have some lovely fresh berries, that will be ready tomorrow along with this gorgeous lemon drizzle cake. Chocolate brownies, Bakewell tart and carrot cake.

Savoury wise, by request, there will be cheese and onion pie along with sausage rolls on Wednesday and quiches on Tuesday! All happening this week...busy busy.

Thanks for your feedback, comments and reviews this week. It always gives us a wee boost when we read them and I always share them here as others tell me they like to read them too. Especially my mum!😅

Hello again Tea House friends. Here is our look back over the last week. We were much busier than the previous week which is expected now at this time of year. Lovely to see our regular returning customers and plenty of new faces too which is great!

So Raymond, a long time regular and huge fan of our Afternoon Teas was in with his son Martin. They brought us some beautiful Old Roses china to add to our collection ...all the way from UK in hand luggage, which was very kind so thank you both for that. Then it was a last goodbye to Raymond as he won't be travelling to Tenerife again due to health issues. 😢 Its been our good fortune to have known you over the years and our pleasure to have served you in The Tea House. Lovely man ❤️

Caz and Jo were in using up a gift voucher for an Afternoon Tea, lovely to see these too and we enjoyed the catch up before they go back to UK for Jo's sons wedding. Good luck with your trip and congratulations to the happy couple.

We will definitely be running Gin Tasting on Saturday 19th September and we have one pencilled in for this coming Saturday, 12th. Thats IF we get more participants and we will keep it open until close of play on Wednesday, so let us know quickly if you are interested in joining us for that one. Don't forget when ordering sandwiches, either in house or takeaway, we have homemade pitta breads as an alternative to sliced white or wholemeal bread. These are a really delicious alternative and actually very popular. Other alternatives, with any of our sandwich fillings are a jacket potato, a lovely mixed salad or tortilla wraps. Plenty to choose from😋

I have a super new carrot cake all ready for the display tomorrow and all our usual cakes and scones. Dont forget our savoury specials and especially sausage rolls on Wednesday....lots preordered already this week so book yours...don't miss out!

Weekly blog posted Sunday 30th August

And now we are just about at the end of Summer school holidays. Still summer though, with a vengeance...its forecasting 34 degrees again this coming week! Phew😅

It's been fairly quiet this week and of course many of the families have left and as we go into September things change. It all comes around so quickly. I am seriously looking at our festive menu and schedule now and this is the time to start making the mincemeat and getting ingredients together for the Christmas cakes!

Who among you was lucky enough to get the raspberry cheescake earlier this week. It was delicious and I made mini ones for the afternoon teas this week...then forgot to take a photo!

So we have plans for now too and lots to look forward to this coming week. (As well as the heatwave!)...Afternoon Teas, take away packups for the beach...these are more popular than ever these days, quiches on Tuesday and Sausage rolls on Wednesday. All your favourite cakes and scones plus something special later in the week. Plus...no gin tasting this Saturday but filling up nicely for the following week. Saturday 12th September, do let us know if you are interested in joining us for this one.

If you are in the village please do pop in and see us. You will be most welcome and booking isn't always necessary at the moment, however if you are 4 or more persons we di advise calling ahead as we are limited on larger tables. ☎️661 468 375

We are open from 8am until 3pm Monday to Thursday.
8am till 12noon on Saturday and Sunday and closed on Fridays....even the Lord gets a day off ! !
