This weekend in L'estartit
Activities to discover the world of fishing
The program will begin on May 15 with a conversation about fishing in the 21st century, with the participation of the main patron of the Estartit Fishermen's Association, Joan Massaguer, and the fisherman Climent Oliveira. The event, organized by the Espai Medes, will take place at 6 pm at the Alba restaurant.
Dissabte May 16, the day will open with a popular screening at Plaça 1 d'Octobre, at the port of l'Estartit, with the participation of the restaurants adhering to the gastronomic days. In parallel, there will be a gyotaku workshop at the Cocu Cultural Association and, starting at 11:30 a.m., a vermouth concert with Entredós.
Today, at the Mar de Llibres Library, a documentary on artisanal fishing in Estartit will be screened in the cycle 'Manel Gil, 50 years of subaquatic images'. In the afternoon, at 5 p.m., you can watch the documentary 'La Costa Brava de fa 50 anys', by Josep Marqués.
On May 17, the 1st square of October will host a live cooking demonstration in the streets of the participating restaurants in the Sonso gastronomic campaign, with sèpia as the protagonist. Parallel to this, there are exhibitions of fishing arts and marine workshops.
During the entire weekend, you will be able to visit the permanent exhibition of the Espai Medes.
A gastronomic campaign with sound as the protagonist
Coinciding with this week's cap, a gastronomic campaign dedicated to sonso will begin, which will last from May 15 to June 15. There are three menus and fifteen plates of suggestion.
