People often ask me why I opened El Cookie.
Sure, I love baking.
I love experimenting with new recipes.
And I love seeing someone take that first bite of a warm cookie.
But cookies were never the whole reason.
I wanted to create a place where people could slow down.
A place where someone new to Alicante could make a friend.
Where two strangers could become regulars together.
Where conversations mattered more than screens.
That's what El Cookie has always been about.
And yes...
I know I'm awkward on camera. 😂
Trust me, I'd much rather be behind the counter baking cookies than talking to a camera.
But if stepping out of my comfort zone helps build this community, then it's worth every awkward moment.

Mucha gente me pregunta por qué abrí El Cookie.
Sí, me encanta hornear.
Me encanta crear nuevas recetas.
Y me encanta ver la cara de alguien cuando prueba una cookie recién hecha.
Pero las cookies nunca fueron el único motivo.
Quería crear un lugar donde la gente pudiera bajar el ritmo.
Un lugar donde alguien que acaba de llegar a Alicante pudiera hacer un amigo.
Donde dos desconocidos terminaran siendo clientes habituales juntos.
Donde las conversaciones fueran más importantes que las pantallas.
Eso es lo que siempre ha significado El Cookie para mí.
Y sí...
Ya sé que soy bastante torpe delante de la cámara. 😂
Créeme, prefiero estar haciendo cookies detrás de la barra que hablando al camera.
Pero si salir de mi zona de confort ayuda a construir esta comunidad, entonces merece totalmente la pena.
