We're really sorry but due to clashing staff holidays and a staff member being on extended long term sick leave, we will have to close the bar from Wednesday this week, 6th May and will reopen on Thursday 14th May as usual.

We will do our utmost to ensure this will never happen again. We thank you in advance for your understanding.

PS, quiz this week will be as normal.

Yes it's Fish and chip Friday again, and that means only the best north Atlantic cod, covered in our very own beer batter, along with twice cooked chips and our very own tartar sauce. Don't forget you can also have either garden or mushy peas to go with it.

Don't worry if you don't fancy fish and chips, just pick one of our other delicious dishes from our special Friday menu. how about the steak, I had it two weeks ago and it was amazing. I like it rare, how about you?

Why not finish it off with one of our home made postres?

We are very pleased to have a small selection of books in the bar from The Friends of Alcossebre charity shop, which is well stocked by the volunteers there.

Today we were shocked when a man came into the bar trying to broker a deal for swapping books for some he had brought in. When we explained that this is a charity and not a swap shop, he became extremely threatening and abusive. Needless to say he was escorted from the bar.

We love helping out in our little way and yes many people do bring books to replace the ones that they buy. But in all cases prior to this one, everyone is more than happy to pay the tiny amount of 1€ for a book.

Please let's not be tempted to let a mean spirit such as this enter our thinking.
