Europe’s food system is being tested by climate change, rising costs, and increasing global instability. But beneath these pressures, a movement is starting, led by Agroecology as a different way of producing food, already practiced by farmers and communities across the continent.
Agroecology is a concrete, everyday reality that rebuilds soil, respects animals, strengthens local economies, and reduces dependency on fragile global systems. It shows that resilience starts from the way we care for land, food, and each other.
From 7–9 June in Brussels, Terra Madre Europe will bring together people from 27 countries to share these experiences and bring them into the heart of European decision-making.
Food is political, and therefore, this is also a political moment.
From the Common Agricultural Policy to trade and public procurement, the choices made today will define the future of food in Europe. The question is no longer whether agroecology works but rather whether policies are ready to support it.
This gathering is about bringing together farmers, cooks, activists, and citizens to push for a system that is fair, resilient, and rooted in respect for land, animals, and people.
