rs and managers Hamada and Karin Khalifa, have many years' experience in the tourism business.. With the "Nile Valley Hotel and Restaurant" the couple have made their dream come true. Together they have created a special place, where dreams can also come true for others. But the couple had to follow a stony path indeed to reach their goal and attain their place in the strongly contested area of tourism.

BES AAN HET BED | Waar wij tegenwoordig alarmsystemen en camera’s gebruiken om ons huis te beveiligen, vertrouwden de oude Egyptenaren op hun goden. Die beschermers stonden niet alleen op huisaltaren, maar maakten soms zelfs deel uit van het meubilair!

Deze vier houten beddenpoten, waarop nog resten van de oorspronkelijke beschildering te zien zijn, zijn versierd met de god Bes. Met zijn uitgestoken tong, opvallende gezicht, en leeuwenmanen moest hij kwade machten op afstand houden. Bes danste, maakte muziek en klapte in zijn handen om boze geesten te verjagen.

Vastgekluisterd aan het bed hield hij zo de wacht over de slapenden.
