🕊️ The 3rd Memorial of the Passing of a Maker of Hope... Dr. Abdelbasset Azab
With courage and determination, Dr. Abdelbasset Azab managed to change society's perception of people with disabilities and proved that willpower and ability can overcome any obstacles. He left a positive impact on the field of media and demonstrated that disability does not hinder one's ability to achieve success and excellence; on the contrary, it can enhance it.
He was the first blind TV presenter in the Arab world and the first person to advocate for the integration of people with disabilities in society and in the media. He emphasized the importance of inclusion in schools and was one of the leading advocates for the rights of people with disabilities. He founded the Arab Center for Specialized Media for People with Disabilities in 14 Arab countries, including Egypt. He was also an official member of the National Council for the Blind in the United States and a member of the International Federation of the Blind. He held a fellowship from the National Council for the Blind in the United States and served as the chairman of the second, third, and fourth conferences for media advocacy for people with disabilities.
He also worked as a media advisor at the Rass Association in Saudi Arabia and was the founder and owner of "Agyal" radio station, which specializes in delivering information and educational programs for the visually impaired and people with disabilities. He owned a restaurant in Egypt called "In the Dark," where he taught sighted people how to interact with the visually impaired with the assistance of the visually impaired themselves. In addition, Dr. Abdelbasset was a member of the Iberian Congress in Portugal and sought, through his membership, to promote the rights of people with disabilities and their integration into society.
He authored several books focusing on disability issues, including "Touching the Eyes" and "Playing on the Strings of the Senses." He also produced several short films that highlight the challenges and success stories of people with disabilities, such as "Playing on the Strings of the Senses" and "R**e of Childhood."
Dr. Abdelbasset Azab's efforts were globally recognized and appreciated. He received numerous prestigious awards from around the world, including the Basira Award at the Red Sea Ophthalmology Conference in Saudi Arabia in 2022, making him the first Egyptian to win this award. Unfortunately, he did not receive an award from his own country, Egypt. He worked with several channels, including Erada Channel in Saudi Arabia and Al-Ataa Channel in Kuwait, presenting informative and educational programs aimed at raising awareness about disability issues and supporting their rights.
He has a high level of love, respect, and admiration, and has achieved numerous accomplishments in this field. He paved the way for others to follow in his footsteps, and his efforts will undoubtedly be rewarded in the sight of Allah.
I pray for his mercy and forgiveness, and may all of his accomplishments be counted as good deeds in the sight of Allah.

🕊️ الذكرى الثالثة لرحيل صانع الأمل.. الدكتور عبد الباسط عزب
بجرأة وإصرار، استطاع الدكتور عبد الباسط تغيير نظرة المجتمع نحو الأشخاص ذوي الاعاقة، وأثبت أن الإرادة والقدرة تتغلب على أي صعاب. ترك تأثيراً إيجابيًا على مجال الإعلام وأثبت أن الاعاقة لا تعيق القدرة على تحقيق النجاح والتميز بل بالعكس تزيد من هذا النجاح.
فهو أول مذيع كفيف في الوطن العربي وأول شخص يدعو إلى دمج ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة في المجتمع وفي وسائل الإعلام. ويؤكد على أهمية الدمج في المدارس. كما يعتبر من أكثر الشخصيات دفاعاً عن حقوق الأشخاص ذوي الاعاقة. هو مؤسس المركز العربي للاعلام المتخصص لذوي الاعاقة في 14 دولة عربية، بما في ذلك مصر. كما أنه عضو رسمي في المجلس القومي للمكفوفين في أمريكا وعضو في الاتحاد الدولي للمكفوفين. حاصل على زمالة من المجلس القومي للمكفوفين في أمريكا ورئيس المؤتمر الثاني والثالث والرابع للاعلام المناصر لذوي الاعاقة.
وهو أيضًا مستشار إعلامي في جمعية الرس بالمملكة العربية السعودية، وصاحب ومؤسس إذاعة "أجيال"، وهي إذاعة متخصصة في إيصال المعلومات والبرامج التثقيفية للمكفوفين وذوي الاعاقة البصرية. يمتلك أيضًا مطعمًا في الظلام في مصر، حيث يعلم المبصرين كيفية التعامل مع المكفوفين بمساعدة المكفوفين أنفسهم. بالإضافة إلى ذلك، يعتبر الدكتور عبد الباسط عضوًا في الكونغرس الإيبيري بالبرتغال، وسعى من خلال عضويته هناك إلى تعزيز حقوق ذوي الاعاقة ودمجهم في المجتمع.
له العديد من المؤلفات التي تركز على قضايا ذوي الاعاقة، بما في ذلك كتاب "لمس العيون" و "العزف على أوتار الحواس". كما قام بإنتاج العديد من الأفلام القصيرة التي تسلط الضوء على تحديات وقصص نجاح ذوي الاعاقة، مثل فيلم "العزف على أوتار الحواس" و "اغ**اب طفولة".
تتميز جهود الدكتور عبد الباسط عزب بالاعتراف العالمي والتقدير، حيث حصل على العديد من الجوائز المرموقة من مختلف أنحاء العالم. من بين هذه الجوائز، جائزة بصيرة التي حصدها في مؤتمر البحر الأحمر لطب العيون بالمملكة العربية السعودية عام 2022، والتي جعلته أول مصري يفوز بهذه الجائزة. ولكن للأسف، لم يحصل على جائزة من بلده مصر. عمل الدكتور عبد الباسط عزب في العديد من القنوات الإعلامية، بما في ذلك قناة إرادة السعودية وقناة العطاء الكويتية، حيث قدم برامج توعوية وتثقيفية تهدف إلى نشر الوعي حول قضايا ذوي الاعاقة ودعم حقوقهم.
له رصيد عالى من المحبة والاحترام والتقدير وله العديد والعديد من الانجازات في هذا المجال، وهو من رسم وسهل الطريق لنمشي عليه خطوات من بعده ستحسب في ميزان حسناته باذن الله.
