Bulaq Arabic: بولاق‎‎‎, (also spelled Boulaq and Bulak);is a district of Cairo, Egypt. It neighbours Downtown Cairo, Azbakeya, and the River Nile. There are claims that the name Boulaq comes from the French 'Beau Lac', which literally means 'Beautiful Lake', but, the name may be much older than the period of French influence starting in the late 18th century.
26th of july street runs through cairo and just before it reaches the nile river it crosses through boulaq at the point of wikalla, also known as wikabella. Wikabella is filled with shops of all types and vintage clothing including shoes. This section of 26 th of Jully runs from Nasser metro station to the Nile river. In the center of this street is the Cinema Ali Baba.
