SOMETIMES THE TACOS LEAVE TALLINN. 🌮🚐

Throwback to one of those days when we packed up El Camino and took the taco show on the road to Pühaste Beer Festival in Tartu. 🍺🔥

Because apparently running a taco bar isn’t chaotic enough. Sometimes we also load everything into a van, drive across Estonia, build a tiny El Camino somewhere else and start feeding hungry festival people. 😂

Good beer. Loud music. Great people. A ridiculous amount of tacos.

We love our new home in Volta, but getting out and popping up at cool events like this is definitely part of the El Camino life.

YESTERDAY’S KITCHEN LOOKED A LITTLE DIFFERENT. 👀📺🇲🇽

We packed up some El Camino flavours and headed to Ringvaade!

And this time, tacos had to share the spotlight because we made TWO different kinds of Mexican-style corn. 🌽🔥

A little cooking, a little talking, a lot of flavour and a chance to share some of the food and culture that inspires what we do at El Camino.

Still pretty surreal to see our little Kalamaja-born taco bar on national TV. ❤️‍🔥

Big thanks to Ringvaade for having us and letting us make a delicious mess in the studio.

FROM A TINY TACO BAR IN KALAMAJA TO THIS. 🇲🇽🌮

Three years ago, El Camino started with a small space, a big love for Mexican food and a slightly crazy idea of doing things our own way.

Today, we’re holding something that means more to us than we can really put into words.

El Camino has received the Sello M certification, awarded by Mexico in collaboration with Mexican culinary institutions to recognize and promote Mexican cuisine around the world.

And we are incredibly proud to say that El Camino is the first and currently the only restaurant in Estonia to receive it. 🇪🇪🇲🇽

Seeing our name on that glass hit differently. 🥹

It represents every taco made, every recipe tested, every late night, every mistake learned from, every person who believed in this place and our determination to treat Mexican food with the respect it deserves.

We never set out to be the biggest.

We just wanted to create something real.

And apparently, that little road from Malmi to Volta reached all the way to Mexico. ❤️‍🔥

Gracias, México. Gracias to our team. And gracias to every single one of you who has been part of El Camino.

This one is going on the wall. And yes, we’ll probably stare at it for a while. 🇲🇽🏆🌮

THIS ONE BROUGHT A LITTLE TEAR TO OUR EYE. 🇲🇽❤️‍🔥

We just received something incredibly special: Sello M certification, a recognition issued by the Mexican government in collaboration with Mexico’s culinary institutions to promote and celebrate Mexican cuisine around the world.

And somehow, this slightly crazy little taco bar that started its journey in Kalamaja is now the only restaurant in Estonia to have received it. 🇪🇪🇲🇽

When we were handed the glass award, there may have been a gratitude tear or two. 🥹

Because this is about so much more than a certificate on the wall.

It’s recognition of the food, the flavours, the work behind the scenes, the respect for Mexican cuisine and all those little decisions we’ve made along the way to do things our own way and do them with heart.

From our tiny Malmi home to Volta.
From an idea to a community.
And now this. ❤️‍🔥

ONE NIGHT. A LOT OF DIFFERENT CHARACTERS. 🌮❤️‍🔥

Looking back at our opening night, one thing makes us especially happy.

It wasn’t just a party.

There were kids running around, dogs making new friends, grown-ups raising glasses, speeches, raffle excitement, tacos disappearing, ice cream saving the day and DJ QUEST making sure standing still was not really an option. 😂🎧🍦🐶

Some came for dinner.
Some came to celebrate.
Some came for the music.
Some were very invested in that raffle. 👀
And we’re pretty sure a few came mainly for the ice cream. We respect that. 😂

But somehow, it all worked together.

Kids, dogs, friends, families, neighbours, familiar Malmi faces and people discovering El Camino for the first time, all sharing one slightly chaotic, very happy night at Volta 1A.

And THAT is exactly what we hoped our bigger home could become.

Not just a place to grab tacos.

A place where different people can come together, stay a little longer than planned, meet someone new and have a damn good time. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who helped turn our opening night into this kind of night.

The raffle is over.
The speeches are done.
The ice cream has been eaten.
DJ has left the decks.

But luckily the tacos are still here. 🌮😎

WHAT. A. NIGHT. 🌮🔥

A huge THANK YOU to every single one of you who came to celebrate our 3rd birthday & Grand Opening at Volta with us yesterday! 🖤

You came. You ate. You drank. And some of you… waited almost 2 HOURS for tacos.

Honestly, at that point they weren’t tacos anymore but they were a long-term commitment. 😂

We definitely did not expect THAT kind of crowd, and we are incredibly grateful for your patience, good vibes and understanding while our kitchen was fighting for its life.

Hopefully DJ QUEST kept your feet moving, the drinks kept flowing and the Premia ice cream made the taco waiting game just a little sweeter. 🍦🎶

And when that taco finally arrived after two hours… we really hope it tasted like the best damn taco of your life.

Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us, to all our amazing partners and friends who helped make the night happen, and especially to our team who survived the beautiful madness behind the scenes.

Volta, you really know how to welcome us. ❤️
