Bodhi's Thai Food This site is the only site and the only restaurant in Cuenca dedicated to Thai Cuisine. Your Chef Bodhi Kroll has been cooking since the age of 6.

Growing up in Berkeley California he was surrounded by over 100 Thai restaurants. Once moving to Cuenca and realizing that his favorite cuisine was unavailable here he decided to rectify that situation and began importing the needed spices and sourcing what is needed to bring this most amazing cuisine to Cuenca. Located just 10 minutes from downtown Cuenca on a lovely 5 acre parcel he has also cre

ated one of the first Aquaponics Farms in the area. This allows him to create lettuce and herbs and trout on site. All of which is organic. Aquaponics systems are super clean and green organic food production systems where the fish water is food for the plants and the plants clean the water for the fish. This allows us to provide a hormone free, antibiotic free pesticide free fish and lettuce produced here on site!

We will be open Friday the 15th of July at noon at the Aquaponics Farm of Cuenca. We open our doors for groups of 8 or more and we are already past that threshold so should you like to join us contact us to get a menu and make a reservation and receive directions. Our menu has been enhanced a bit and now includes amongst other things Tom Ka G*i, which is a coconut cream soup with chicken and vegetables. Also new is our crispy trout with tamarind sauce.

There will be a brief science explanation regarding our super clean and green Aquaponic system which is producing vegetables, herb and fresh organic trout.

Bodhi's Thai has 3 new amazing dishes. Tom Ka G*i ( Chicken soup with our homemade coconut milk and vegis) To die for I promise! Also, Thai basil chicken recipe (pad kra pao g*i) another amazing dish which comes with rice and a Thai style fried egg. Lastly, Our new fish dish which is a Crispy Fried Fish with Tamarind Sauce and garlic and hot and sweet peppers. Sweet, and Sour and Spicey flavors! We are blessed to have a huge supply of spices imported from Thailand so you are sure to have an authentically spiced meal. Experience a salad picked just minutes before you eat it! We are now offering a new sampler platter as well so in one meal you can try our Red, Green and Yellow curries, plus the Pad Thai, Our Organic Thai Peanut Salad and a desert! We have a small group booked for the 23rd of February at 2pm and we need a few more people as we generally don't open for less than 6 people. So, feel free to book your group of 6 or more any day but if you happen to have a group ready for the 23rd contact us and we will send you the menu. We are located just 10 minutes from downtown Cuenca at the Aquaponics Urban Farm of Cuenca. There will be a brief science talk for those interested after the meal to explain the mechanics of our amazing Aquaponics Farm which is growing organic lettuce and herb in Symphony with our Trout. Its super green and clean and you will be eating our super clean food right from the farm. We also offer chicken, beef, pork and shrimp dishes. All our curries are start with a base of our home made coconut cream and we make all our own sauces for things such as pad Thai. We have an extensive pantry full of spices imported from Thailand. Your chef, Bodhi, has been cooking with a passion since the age of 6. We have a small group coming for Bodhi's Thai food at the Aquaponics Urban Farm of Cuenca on January the 25th at 2pm. We don't open with less than 6 people so we need at least 2 more people to come enjoy our Thai food just 10 minutes from downtown Cuenca but situated on 5 acres overlooking the valley and river below. We have a fabulous collection of spices imported from Thailand to make your dining experience a memorable one. All our sauces are homemade not from cans. Even the coconut milk is made from fresh coconuts. Email us if you want to join us on the 25th. I need to hear from you not later than 11am on saturday to join us on the 25th. Come visit us at the Aquaponics urban farm of Cuenca. We have space for 4 more this Thursday the 21st of January. We are just 10 minutes from downtown Cuenca but sit on 5 acres. You will feel you are a thousand miles away. Otherwise pick your day as we open by reservation only. Contact us to see the full menu. We have a nice selection of curries, and Chicken Satay and spring rolls or Fresh trout from our Aquaponics Farm. All salads and fish are from our garden and are free of antibiotics, medicines, pesticides and chemical fertilizers. We also do a brief science talk to explain the workings of our aquaponics system which is super sustainable and organic. That said, we are awaiting our next groups for next week. Contact us to get menu and driving directions. We make all our own sauces with fresh ingredients. Plus we have an enormous supply of imported Thai spices. Nothing out of a can including the curries which feature our homemade coconut milk. Our pad thai is made with fresh tamarind and panella and lots of other goodies and is twice cooked for a total of 5 plus hours. Our dipping sauces will tantilize the taste buds. Plus you have the option of ordering fresh organic salad from our garden and or fresh organic trout produced in our amazing clean and green Aquaponics food production system where the fish produce the food for the plants and the plants clean the water for the fish. Its an actual eco system which requires that we not use chemical fertilizers or pesticides or hormones or antibiotics. We do a brief science talk on how this system works at the end. Our little farm is only 10 minutes from downtown but sits on 5 acres so you will feel like you are 100 miles out into the country! Our lovely spacious patio over looks the valley and creek below. Bodhi's food will now be available 7 days a week at Café Eucalyptus at 9-41 Gran Colombia in Cuenca. The schedule is now Sunday Brunch 11 to 2pm. 9.95 for all you can eat Eggs, Sausage, homemade biscuits and gravy, hash browns and pancakes and waffles with our 120 year old sourdough starter and bottomless coffee. Kids half price and you can also order al la carte if you prefer.
This meal is a Sunday only option. However, the new menu features a Bodhi's section now available 7 days a week. To include, Lasagna with homemade Sauce and pasta served with Organic salad and our Thai Peanut vinaigrette. Or Thai food which will include our red curry beef, Spring rolls with our dipping sauce, or a special Thai Peanut Salad with egg and chicken. By ordering any of the Bodhi's food you will not only get a taste bud treat you will be helping to support our Local Aquaponics Urban Farm of Cuenca.
For a more extensive Thai menu to include fresh organic trout from our Aquaponics garden you can also book a meal for groups of 8 or more and come to our little farm which is just 10 minutes from downtown Cuenca. We also have yellow and green curries plus chicken satay at the farm. All made with our homemade coconut cream as a base! We have moved our Thai dining to Café Eucalyptus every Thursday from 5 to 10ish! Later by request! Up to 11pm for you late night diners! We are featuring several new dishes so come on over and taste the flavor at 9-41 Gran Colombia between Padre Aguire and Benigno Malo. If you haven't checked Café Eucalyptus out you should its a super cool space with 2 floors of dining and live music while my team and I are cooking!
I will still offering meals for 6-15 people at our Aquaponics Urban Farm along with a brief science talk regarding our super green and clean sustainable food production machine for those interested. That will be by reservation only.
