A while ago, our dear friend and long-time regular Dale offered us the opportunity to be part of a fundraising to support Biler til Ukraine, an organisation which focus on buying vehicles for Ukrainian forces during the war.

Christiania Bryghus kindly donated four kegs for the cause that we split between our two venues Blue Raven Bar and Black Swan Bar .

You can now find:
- Kiwi Skunk, a 6.5% American style IPA brewed with Mosaic, Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka hops and a good dose of roasted h**p seeds,
- Sour Ninja, a 4% Berliner Weisse brewed with cherries and pineapple.
On taps 7 and 16 at Blue Raven Bar.

All proceeds from the sale of those four donated kegs will go to the amazing Biler til Ukraine.

So come by, grab a pint and support a good cause.

It’s time to catch up on our staff introductions so let us tell you a bit more about Rowan 🌝

Rowan is 27 years old, and was born and raised in Reading, England like a proper Biscuit man!

Our sweet bird has been working part-time with us for almost a year, while finishing his Masters in Urban development.

When Rowan is not slinging beers behind the bar, he likes to run, he also recently started to learn how to knit and he’s a big cinephile.

Something you most probably don’t know about Rowan is that he is half deaf but the only sign language he knows is: « I want you to f**k off » soooo… Watch out!

If he was a customer at Blue Raven Bar, his dream combo would be a proper pint of dry cider, accompanied by a nice peaty whisky while eating Pipers’ Salted Vinegar crisps and listening to some of Jorge Ben’s Bossa Nova.

🍺: observatoriet - Avalon, 6.5%

Another banger from the amazing observatoriet! This particular wild ale was aged on oak foudre with yeast cultures for a whole year. Afterwards, quince juice was added for a final fermentation. This resulted in a super fresh, tart and funky sour that will properly zest you up 😎

We’re very excited to introduce a new French cider to our selection: Cidre Blanc, 4.5%

Manoir Du Val uses an innovative technique to prevent the oxidation of apples during the pressing process. This resulted in a beautiful light-coloured medium-dry cider, characterised by a slightly green apple fruitiness, a touch of acidity, and a refined finish. It is extremely fresh and crisp and will be a perfect companion for the sunny days ahead!

Very happy to have a Schwarzbier on tap 11 at the moment, it is not a style we get our hands on very often!

The brewers at Bierol really nailed it with
Schwoschz! It hits at 4.5% and combines the high drinkability of a crisp lager with the roasty notes of darker malts typical of stouts and porters. Prost!
