Tech Pub Aarhus is an event series where we build bridges between the people building tech and the people feeling it in everyday life. Where nerdiness, curiosity, and opinions share the same table. Where we talk about what tech does to the city, to society, and how it can all come together in a way that makes sense for more people. We meet once a month in an informal atmosphere, with a beer in hand and room for both reflection and laughter. During the festival week, we are turning things up and hosting 4 x Tech Pub Aarhus. This evening, we will dive into Tech & Gaming.

Gaming has become much more than entertainment. We will bring together game developers, creators, and tech profiles to discuss why gaming today is culture, identity, and technology melted together.

For more than 20 years, we’ve been selling FREITAG bags at LYNfabrikken. Long before recycling became a global buzzword, swiss FREITAG has transformed used truck tarps into one of a kind bags.

Today, we had the privilege of a behind the scenes tour at the FREITAG factory in Zürich, guided by Nicholas. Seeing the entire process up close -from the arrival of the worn truck tarps, to the huge washing maschine provided with rainwater and finally the laser cutting that makes every single bag unique, was truly inspiring.

A little throwback⚡️
Two years ago, we were sketching on a new tile floor for part of our coffee shop. We had to draw every single tile to calculate exactly how many we needed of the 3 colours: red, black and white. 🙈
Now, thanks to some very talented hard workers, it feels like the floor has always been part of the old factory building. A gentle renovation without taking out the factory vibe.

In the 1990s, we spent a lot of time at The Globe in Prague (Holešovice).
It was more than a café and a bookstore. It was a cultural hub in the years following the Velvet Revolution, where writers, artists and travellers came together. The shelves were filled with Charles Bukowski, poetry readings were a regular event, and writers such as Allen Ginsberg stopped by. The vibe was multi international. People shared thoughts, ideas, learned from each other and many got lifetime friendships from this place. The Globe became one of the places that inspired what would later become LYNfabrikken.

This week, we returned to the address where The Globe once stood. Today, another café occupies the space, but it was the perfect place to meet New York born Mark Baker, one of the five founders behind The Globe.
It was a real pleasure to hear the story behind the place from someone who was there from the beginning and to reflect on how one café can inspire another across countries and across decades.
Thank you, Mark, for sharing the story. Today we mention The Globe on our menu in our café. Some places never really disappear, they simply continue to inspire new ones.

I flere år har vi fulgt debatten om børns skærmtid. Skærmen er efterhånden blevet gjort til et fyord, når det handler om børn. Vi mener, at samtalen ikke bør handle om, hvor meget skærmtid børn har men om, hvad de bruger den tid på.

Vi tror på meningsfuld skærmtid. Den slags, der vækker nysgerrighed, styrker selvtilliden, skaber sociale relationer både sammen og på afstand samt udvikler kreativiteten. Den slags, hvor børn ikke bare forbruger indhold, men skaber det. For kodning, spiludvikling, digital historiefortælling og kreativ teknologi er alt andet end tomme kalorier.

Derfor har vi sammen med Cocoders skabt deepPLAY -et forløb for børn i alderen 8–12 år.

Hver onsdag fra den 2. september til den 7. oktober 2026 kan børn møde andre med samme interesser, lære af vores dygtige undervisere og udforske kodning, kreativitet, teknologi og digital forståelse i et inspirerende fællesskab.

Og det er ikke kun for børnene. Som forælder er du også velkommen til at deltage. Det giver dig mulighed for at blive klogere på dit barns digitale univers, få indsigt i kodning og kreativ teknologi og opleve, hvordan disse kompetencer kan være med til at styrke dit barns udvikling, både nu og i fremtiden.

Vi tror ikke, at skærmen er problemet. Vi tror, at det rigtige indhold, de rette rollemodeller og et stærkt fællesskab kan gøre skærmtid til en af de mest kreative, lærerige og udviklende oplevelser et barn kan få.

Efter hver undervisningsgang spiser vi aftensmad sammen.

Since 2007, the artists and filmmakers Lernert & Sander have become known for their conceptual art films, striking installations and sharp fashion aesthetic. Driven by their cheeky sense of humor, Lernert & Sander’s simple yet spectacular approach has earned the duo numerous awards, international recognition and acclaim across the industry.
As part of their ongoing dialogue with creative communities, they have also previously visited LYNfabrikken for a lecture and a digital exhibition at BOX. Today we are celebrating their work in this BOX exhibition called “Tribute to Lernert & Sander”.
