A New Chapter in Münster – Celebrating Our Technicians
High above Münster, at "Café 1648," service technician Guido Tegelkamp is handing over the reins to his successor, Christoph Schäper. Together, they ensure the smooth operation of the Melitta® Cafina® XT8 coffee machine, which has dispensed around 30,000 cups in just one year from the 11th floor of the Stadthaus. Another XT8 on the floor above exceeds this performance, delivering more than double the output.
After an impressive 48-year career, with 32 of those years at Melitta, Guido is ready to retire. But don’t worry, his coffee passion is still going strong! "The love for coffee never leaves me," he says. Guido will continue to share his expertise two days a week, supporting projects with the International Customer Service team. His vast experience, from the North Sea islands to the Black Forest, Kosovo, and the USA, is still in high demand. Plus, he loves coming back to "Café 1648" as a guest: "It's always a joy to be with the team and the people here." His colleague, Bernd Billik, the area manager for Melitta Professional in Münsterland, couldn’t agree more and thanks Guido for the always trustworthy collaboration.
Christoph Schäper, with 13 years of experience as a coffee machine technician, already feels "right at home" with Guido. He’s excited to work on high-level machines developed and manufactured by Melitta's in-house team. And the family atmosphere at Melitta? It’s a perfect fit, as he found out during the Melitta Group's summer festival in Minden.
