What is Multiple Sclerosis? MS is a potentially debilitating
disease in which your body's immune system eats away at the protective sheath that covers your nerves. This interferes with the communication between your brain and the rest of your body. Ultimately, this may result in deterioration of the nerves themselves, a process that's not reversible. *There is no known cure for Multiple Sclerosis. Life expenancy to those effective by Multiple Sclerosis is 4 - 10 less years than to those who are not effected by the disease. *
There are 4 Levels of Multiple Sclerosis:
1.Relapsing remitting,
2.Secondary progressive,
3.Primary progressive, and
4.Progressive relapsing.
Michael has Secondary Progressive.
Michael and I are taking this head on and Will Go On With Our Lives The Best That We Can. Michael was diagnosed Jan, 2007. Here is a link that I want to share with all of you and I truly do encourage you to read and learn more about MS. In the Forums, you will find sections of Everyday Living, MS Research, and Carers and so much more. What you will read, are from those with the disease and their carers. I do plan to register on the site. I encourage all of you closests to Michael to inform yourselves with this information so that you may have a better understanding as to what Michael and I are going through.
